Tiger King was our lockdown obsession, with the weird world of America’s big cat owners distracting us from the terrifying reality of Covid-19.

Now, Netflix’s huge hit documentary series is back for a second season, providing a deeper dive into Joe Exotic, his prison sentence, and his ongoing rivalry with Carole Baskin.

While we expected to see some familiar faces Tiger King 2, one person we weren’t anticipating to see was Loose Women panellist Jane Moore popping up.

Here’s a clip below.

Yep, the opening episode of the new series sees Jane grilling Carole’s husband, Howard Baskin, on Loose Women, about the prospect of Joe Exotic being pardoned by then-President Donald Trump.

Those of us who saw Tiger King will know that Joe is currently in prison for plotting to kill rival Carole, as well as shooting some of his own tigers dead.

When Jane asks Harold about the possibility of Joe being freed, an agitated Harold responds: “I don’t want to talk about him being released from prison, he belongs in prison.”

Pointing to his backdrop of a tiger, Harold continued: “Forget about the whole business of hiring someone to kill Carole. This is someone… look at the tiger behind me. This is a man who walked up to five trusting tigers, who knew him, healthy tigers, and took a shotgun and blew their brains out.

“If anyone doesn’t believe he belongs in jail for that, they have my sympathy.”

Despite Jane’s best efforts to keep Harold on the topic, a visibility irritated Harold sighed, and asked to move the conversation on.

The new series of Tiger King will also look deeper into the disappearance of Don Lewis, Carole Baskin’s first husband.

Carole has repeatedly and strenuously denied any involvement in her husband’s disappearance.

New episodes will now explore the possibility that he could well be alive and living in Costa Rica.
