Guys, it’s almost that time of year again - we’re just days away from The Celebrity Traitors kicking off its second-ever season.
After a nail-biting first season last October that saw Alan Carr take home the win for the Traitors after hilariously pulling the wool over the eyes of the celebrity Faithfuls, a fresh round of 21 A-listers have spent time in the famous castle.
Filming is thought to have taken place in May 2026, and now, reports have emerged that one celebrity became so ‘’visibly stressed’ that shooting had to be halted.
Personally, even watching the TV show has my blood pressure high, so I can’t even imagine what it’s like being part of the action - and apparently it all got a bit much for comedian James Acaster.

The 41-year-old’s co-stars allegedly raised their concerns with the Studio Lambert production crew, who decided to pause the game so he could be checked on, according to a source who spoke to The Sun.

The source said: “The show is incredibly intense and during one particular scene at the castle, James became very anxious and panicked.
“Some of the other celebrities on the show spoke up and said cameras should stop rolling so he could calm down, and production were in agreement as well. “Everyone looks out for each other, and there is a proper sense of camaraderie. It was good for James to have a breather, as everyone felt it was for the best.”
The insider added: “The break didn’t affect the outcome of the game at all, but showed just how passionate and tense everyone on set was. It’s easy to become fully immersed.”
Responding to the claims, a spokesperson for the reality TV show told the outlet: “The Traitors is a unique and immersive game, and we recognise that taking part can be intense at times.
“Our highest priority is always the safety and welfare of everyone taking part. Players are closely monitored and supported throughout by production, which includes a dedicated and experienced welfare team.”
Acaster will be joined in the castle by a slew of famous faces, including TV presenter Maya Jama and actors Michael Sheen and Miranda Hart.
For those who are unfamiliar with the concept, the beloved show is hosted by Claudia Winkleman, set in a Scottish castle in the Highlands, and follows the celebrity contestants - the majority of whom are known as Faithfuls - as they try to seek out the murderous traitors among them, who kill off players in the middle of the night.
The show will see stars compete to win a cash prize of up to £100,000 for a charity of their choice, kicking off on 1 October at 8pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
