Maya Jama may already have made a costly mistake on Celebrity Traitors after viewers spotted a moment they believe gave away her role in the game.
The second celebrity spin on the Traitors series returned to BBC One on Thursday (1 October), bringing 21 famous faces into the Scottish castle to compete for up to £100,000 for charity.
Host Claudia Winkleman began the reality TV game with a twist, selecting only two Traitors rather than the usual three, with presenter Jama, 32, chosen alongside actor Richard E. Grant, 69.
Grant then caused immediate chaos by openly telling his fellow contestants that he was a Traitor just minutes after being selected, leaving several of the Faithfuls unsure whether he was being serious or attempting some kind of elaborate bluff.

Beforehand, the show had to halt shooting when one of the A-listers became ‘visibily stressed’.
That said, attention has since turned to Jama and a much subtler moment at the roundtable.

After Claudia had secretly selected the pair by touching them whilst the contestants were blindfolded, everyone was told to remove their masks.
Viewers quickly picked up on Jama’s reaction, with the Love Island presenter squinting, looking around the table and appearing to smirk as she adjusted to the light.
Some fans felt the reaction was enough to make her stand out from the other contestants, despite nobody in the room immediately calling her out.
As spotted by Metro, one person wrote on X: “Maya Jama smirking like that is quite bait.”
Another added: “Sorry but Maya relax your eyes,” whilst a third predicted: “Feel like Maya Jama will be found out instantly.”
A fourth viewer was equally convinced, writing: “Maya looks guilty as hell”
Another joked: “Maya was serving Dynasty era Joan Collins when she took her mask off. Subtle.”
Jama’s position could prove particularly interesting given the problems already facing her fellow Traitor.

Grant had made it clear before the game that he desperately wanted to be chosen for the role, but his excitement appeared to get the better of him almost immediately.
When comedian Joe Lycett asked whether he was a Faithful or Traitor after the roundtable, Grant simply replied: “Traitor”.
Lycett responded: “I’m going to pretend I didn’t hear that.”
He then told the actor: “I think you’ve done something that’s never been done in the game. It’s a bold strategy.”
Grant later admitted: “That may have been the biggest mistake I’ve made in my life. I was so thrilled to be chosen that in my excitement I said I was a traitor. I need to defuse all of the heat coming in my direction.”
When Jama eventually met Grant in the turret, she was clearly taken aback by what had happened and referred to him as her ‘unhinged uncle’, as noted by LADbible.
The pair are also due to add a third Traitor to their ranks, with James Acaster and Amol Rajan among the names being considered.
