Season 23 of Grey’s Anatomy is just weeks away from airing, and fans are preparing for a huge cast shake-up.
The long-running medical drama starring Ellen Pompeo as the titular character, Meredith Grey, has been on our screens for more than two decades, having premiered all the way back in March 2005.
Despite killing off many beloved characters and introducing fresh faces along the way, the TV show has managed to maintain a dedicated fanbase for all of that time, outlasting other dramas that have come and gone in between.
And now, fans are gearing up for yet another season, which is due to begin on 15 October, and will welcome a slew of exciting new guest stars.

Variety reports that Sarah Levy, Martin Martinez and Trevor Tordjman are all going to be joining the cast.
Levy, 40, who’s best known for her role in Schitt's Creek, will be playing Corrie, whose character description says she is ‘witty, a bit of an oddball and very pregnant’.

It continues: “She has a lot of anxiety about giving birth to her second child after the traumatic experience she had with her first child.”
Meanwhile, Martinez will be stepping into the shoes of Charlie, who, according to the outlet, ‘has had a rough upbringing and, as a result of the trauma he’s experienced, he has a tough exterior and struggles to trust other people’.
Finally, Tordjman will be playing Thomas, ‘the fun-loving and charming boy next door who doesn’t realize he is as cute as he is’.
The character is ‘at the hospital to help ensure his brother’s girlfriend is okay’.

Tordjman has had previous roles in the hit Canadian teen dance drama series The Next Step, as well as Disney's musical movie franchise Zombies, while Martinez’s credits include Netflix’s Never Have I Ever and Magnum P.I.
It comes after viewers also said goodbye to some departing characters last season, including one particular doctor who fans branded the ‘most hated’. Ouch.
Kevin McKidd and Kim Raver, who made their last appearance in the season two finale in May, portrayed the couple Owen Hunt and Teddy Altman for over a decade.
Following a dramatic finale, the couple made a move to Paris to give their on-and-off relationship a chance.

Apparently, the reason behind the dislike is that the character can be 'manipulative and controlling,' hasn't treated Teddy well, and 'needs therapy'.
One fan penned on social media: "‘No offence to McKidd because he seems like a nice guy, but GREY’S IS FINALLY FREE OF OWEN HUNT???"
While a second quipped: "Thank God! Most useless character ever!! Bye, Bye, Hunt!! Teddy, you will never be forgotten."
A third asked: "But who will be the worst male character now?"

And a fourth brutally wrote: “FINALLY I THOUGHT WE’D NEVER SEE THE END OF OWEN HUNT #GreysAnatomy.”
A fifth agreed: “And millions of fans are cheering for the exit of Dr. Owen Hunt everywhere!!! #GreysAnatomy.”
While a sixth chimed in with: “WE ARE FINALLY FREE FROM OWEN HUNT #GreysAnatomy.”
Well, I guess fans will just have to find a new ‘hated’ character to pick on!
