A mum on Facebook has been praised for her 'honest' lunchbox photo after revealing the struggles of finding 'healthy' foods her little one will eat.

Mum-of-two Sarah, from Australia was praised by other parents on social media, after she filled her son's lunchbox up with rice sticks, a sandwich and a pear.

Sarah explained her little one is a fussy eater and prefers more bland foods.

"Yes, I would love to offer my child a smorgasbord of healthy goodies, but I have a fussy eater who prefers simple boring lunches, I pick my battles," said Sarah.

And others found the simplicity of the lunchbox 'relatable' in comparison to some 'elaborate' lunches often shared on social media.

One person wrote: "My son will only have a Vegemite sandwich. There is nothing wrong with simple."

While another said: "I try to keep [school lunches] simple too, I do two fruit, one vegetable and a sandwich."

And a third added: "I have one child that will try anything and another with a texture aversion and likes 'predictable' lunches."

"That is a healthier lunch than you are giving yourself credit for," added a fourth.

The anonymous women recounted an exchange she had with her boyfriend after walking to the fridge. She said he gave her looked at her with "a weird expression and said: "I'm just sitting here thinking 'damn. I picked that.'"

Reddit collectively decided that the boyfriend was in the wrong. One commenter shared: “No offense but this guy sounds like a straight up douche.”

A third wrote: “Men who don't respect pregnancy need to be dumped.”
