AI shows what celebrities would have looked like today

AI technology has shown what some celebrities who are sadly no longer with us might have looked like in 2022.

When someone dies much too young it's hard not to think what else they might have got up to during the rest of their life.

One of the big questions people might always wonder about is what they'd have looked like and whether the ageing process would have been kind or harsh to them.

Several sadly departed celebrities have ended up getting the AI ageing up treatment to see what they could have looked like if they were still alive today, with varying results.

Heath Ledger looks pretty much the same as he did when he died in 2008, albeit with a few more wrinkles on the forehead and a hairline that's receding a little bit more around the sides to form a bit of a widow's peak.

Posthumously picking up an Oscar for his star turn as The Joker in The Dark Knight, it would have been interesting to know what sort of career Heath Ledger at 43 would have gone on to have.

The AI thinks Michael Jackson would have grown a beard, though the picture used as a reference point was taken before he underwent so much plastic surgery so that might have thrown it off quite a bit.

A few wrinkles and a slightly receding hairline aside, Heath Ledger would still have been a heartthrob.

Fast and Furious star Paul Walker died back in 2013, and his AI generated portrait of what he'd look like today is pretty much identical.

The most the AI can think to do is add a slight tone of grey into his hair if he'd made it to 49, with pretty much nothing to speak of in the way of new wrinkles or changes.

The same can't be said for what legendary rapper Tupac Shakur would have looked like if he'd lived to be 51, with the AI dealing him a pretty raw deal compared to the rest.

For some reason the AI thinks he'd have put on weight and gained a whole load of wrinkles, especially around his eyes.

One person described him as 'that uncle that swears he coulda went pro'.

Freddie Mercury would have kept the moustache, apparently.

Meanwhile, a 76-year-old Freddie Mercury is still rocking that moustache and hairline, along with a pretty smart looking set of braces.

He's actually got fewer wrinkles than an AI-generated Heath Ledger who is 33 years younger than him, and is making a pair of glasses work.

If anything he looks like a retired bank manager who aged really well and wants to spend his final years chilling out in a special room he's got to play his vinyl records in.

Sadly we'll never know whether the celebrities would have ended up looking like this in real life but we can always imagine.

People who saw the results were impressed with the changes and called for other celebrities to get the same treatment.

Patrick Swayze and Cameron Boyce were popular choices, while others wondered what Elvis Presley would have looked like these days.
