Paris Hilton is setting the record straight after getting backlash for her Halloween costume.
The world’s most iconic socialite dressed up as Belle from Beauty and the Beast and her husband Carter Reum as the Beast.
The 45-year-old “Sliving” advocate, who famously curates several spooky season looks each year, was met with a slew of angry comments over the costumes. Her two young children: son Phoenix, three, and daughter London, two, were not allocated the main roles and the internet is very upset.
Phoenix was Lumière the candlestick, and London was the teacup Chip (not Mrs Potts, as a lot of commenters seemed to think).

Some fans found it odd that the kids weren’t the main characters and stars of the photoshoot, and one X user wrote: “Cute, but the kids should have been the stars here.”
While a second agreed: “Imagine making your toddler daughter be Mrs. Potts here.”
A third wrote: “Did you just make the little poor girl Mrs Potts, lol,” alongside laughing emojis.
The former The Simple Life star has addressed the backlash in a new comment shared on Instagram.
“My daughter London’s favourite character in the movie Beauty and the Beast is Chip, and she has been talking about wanting to have that as her Halloween costume ever since we saw the film for the first time.”

Naturally, Hilton ended the response with a pink heart emoji.
Meanwhile, in some corners of social media, netizens loved that Hilton took on the role of Belle: “This is what type of mom I'm tryna be. Like no sweetie, mommy's gonna be Belle. You can be her next time.”
Others rushed forward to defend Hilton, though, with one fan demanding: “I will not tolerate y’all senselessly slandering Paris rn!!! Her kids are happy and rich trust me they’re beyond ok with this and most likely have 5 other costumes lined up!”
Another agreed: “I don't mind her being Belle since it is her account not her kids plus she served.”
Someone else commented: “Her and her man being the main characters who are in love while the kids are the cute little side characters that make the movie what it is makes perfect sense, what?”
Following Hilton's response, a fan wrote: "Let kids be kids, right? Makes sense for her daughter to be Chip. Chip is the cutest character like???"
While another mum quipped: "Are y'all going to hate on me Saturday when I'm Princess Peach and my daughter is Baby Toad?"

You could say that Hilton's love of Halloween is a tale as old as time. in 2025 alone, she embraced a variety of eye-catching costumes. On 31 October, she turned heads at a Los Angeles Halloween party in a lime green Tinker Bell-inspired fairy ensemble, complete with a plunging dress, matching thigh-high boots, opera gloves, a choker and sunglasses.
She also paid homage to Britney Spears in the singer’s iconic red latex-inspired catsuit from the 2000 Oops!... I Did It Again! music video. Beyond her solo looks, Hilton joined her husband and their children for a series of family-themed costumes, including Minnie Mouse, Little Bo Peep and Catwoman.
