Fans of Netflix's Tiger King 2 have confessed that the show is giving them serious flashbacks to the first lockdown.
Back in March 2020, we were all wrapped in in a mid-Covid world filled with banana bread, TikTok dances and Tiger King. For some viewers, the release of the sequel came as a welcome blast from the past.
Others, however, were finding the flashbacks fairly uncomfortable.
The first few weeks of lockdown (mark one) was tinged with relaxation for a lot of people. Work was called off, we weren't obligated to socialise and the majority of us retired to a blissful life of tracksuits and TV.
Tiger King was the bingeworthy guilty pleasure series we all needed, making household names of big cat owners Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin. Let's face it, we literally spent every minute talking about them within our own households.
But some viewers are finding that the second instalment simply isn't hitting the spot in the same way as its predecessor.
While a handful of viewers are hoping the second series may be sign of another extended break - for some, the flashbacks are far too much.
"Hopefully Tiger King 2 is signal for another lockdown", one Twitter user manifested.
"@netflix be like Tiger King Part 2 out, can we get another lockdown please?" another joked.
One viewer in particular found the series a lot to take in. "Starting season 2 of #TigerKing and it brings back gloriously horrifying memories of lockdown", they said.
"They're coming out with a Tiger King 2? I think they're underestimating how much that initial boredom got them views", remarked another.
"I feel like watching Tiger King 2 would be a bad omen and bring on another lockdown", a third user joked.
