The Tiger King world has just gotten bigger with the arrival of the new spinoff series, The Doc Antle Story.

The new series explores the life of another big cat enthusiast, Doc Antle, who viewers may recognise from the first season of Tiger King.

All three episodes will explore claims against Antle, 61, regarding whether he was running his animal facility, located in Myrtle Beach, like a cult along with accusations of animal cruelty. It will feature interviews from those who have first-hand experience with Antle.
The synopsis released by Netflix describes the controversial figure as a ‘lifelong showman’ who has built a career on ‘theatrics’.
The streaming service also teases his background being ‘shadier’ than his Tiger King counterparts and calls him a ‘predator far more dangerous than his beloved big cats.’

Despite his questionable background, Antle, whose real name is Mahamayavi Bhagavan Antle, has acquired a legion of fans and supporters.
Antle was charged with two felonies relating to wildlife trafficking and 13 additional misdemeanours relating to the Endangered Species Act and animal cruelty.
The indictments came about after investigations by the Animal Law Unit found lion cubs had allegedly been trafficked between Virginia and South Carolina.

When Antle was introduced in Tiger King season 1, his wildlife facility, The Institute for Greatly Endangered and Rare Species (T.I.G.E.R.S.) was described as a ‘personal cult’.
Former T.I.G.E.R.S. employee Barbara Fisher stated that she and Antle's other workers, who were mostly young women, felt compelled to sleep with him in order to advance at the facility.
Fisher also states she was pressured to get breast implants because the park desired ‘sexy’ workers.
It remains to be seen how Antle will react to the series about his life because he wasn't too impressed with Tiger King.
He said: “Remember, this is not a documentary. This is a salacious, outrageous ride through a television show produced to create drama, to just tie you in to some crazy train wreck of a story between the feud of Carole Baskin and Joe Exotic, and the meltdown that ensued between two people who both are far too close to murder themselves, and I think a little bit of madness thrown in on their parts.”

He also added: "It was all about how the tigers that we have here have raised so much money that we’ve been able to go to Sumatra and create a new ranger station there … and that was the documentary that I worked on, and all of that stuff somehow found its way to the cutting room floor."
