Suits fans point out sign in show that gave away moment Meghan Markle began dating Prince Harry

Meghan's character left Suits in 2017, just one year after dating Prince Harry

Did Meghan Markle’s Suits character change after she began dating Prince Harry? According to some fans: yes.

Viewers of the hit lawyer drama series think they’ve been able to sport exactly when Markle began her love story, and if you think about it, it’s kinda obvious if you rewatch.

If you didn’t know before, before becoming the Duchess of Sussex, the 43-year-old was a main character in the show from 2011 to 2018 called Rachel Zane.

Paralegal Rachel was an ambitious woman who worked at the firm Pearson Hardman before entering a tumultuous relationship with main character Mike Ross.

The whole premise of Mike’s character is that he got his job and rose to the top all without a law degree, so when Rachel finds out, things get messy.

However, they do go on to get married and leave their jobs.

It’s a great show, and even though it’s completely been spoiled above, it’s still worth the watch.

But when you do pop it on the tele, you’re going to notice the exact same things that fans did which points to the moment Markle started dating her now husband.

On Reddit, one user speculated that it all began in season 6, with many noting that Rachel became more modest and stopped showing affection to her on-screen beau.

They began the thread stating: “My wife and I have binged the show since it showed up recently on Netflix. I was curious as to when exactly Megan started dating Harry, but refused to look it up. I wanted to take a best guess and season 6 looks like it.

“I’m basing this on Mike and Rachel kissing and hugging once despite some seriously intense moments in their story. Harvey and Mike have more sexual chemistry, and honestly, I’m rooting for them to make it.”

Many agreed, with one writing that ‘her hemlines grew even longer and her buttons more buttoned-up’.

Another shared: “I was rewatching season 7 and noticed she was wearing actual pajamas, not lingerie, while sitting up in bed, Mike was not in the bed next to her, but sitting aside the bed. I'd say that's when I noticed for sure, but I'm slow on the uptake!”

They’re actually onto something.

In real life, around the time of season six in July 2016, a mutual friend set up Meghan and Prince Harry on a blind date in London.

The royal couple then went on their second date on 4 July, according to Meghan’s most recent post, and now (nearly 10 years later), the pair are married and have two children together.

So, the fans who spotted those details were right on the money.

Sadly, Markle left the series just one year later, with one of the show's writers making a shocking claim about the 'real reason' she was written out of the show.

It’s because he knew her relationship would work out.

Aaron Korsh, a writer commented he'd planned on writing her character out for a while, while speaking to BBC Radio 4 in 2017.

He confessed: "I knew from a year ago that this relationship was burgeoning.

"And I had a decision to make because I didn't want to intrude and ask her, 'hey what's going on and what are you going to do?'.

"So collectively with the writers, we decided to take a gamble that these two people were in love and it was going to work out."

The 58-year-old producer went on to explain: "What we decided to do (was to) say, 'look, I would rather have good things happen to Meghan in her life' - which would likely mean her leaving the show.

"So let's plan on that and it's much easier to undo that, if it came to it, than to just plan on her staying forever and then finding out she's going to go. And the only way to write a character out like that would be if they got hit by a bus or something."
