Thomas Brodie-Sangster fans shocked after realising how old he is in this photo

Film fans have been left gobsmacked after finding out how old Nanny McPhee’s Thomas Brodie-Sangster is now after seeing him in a photograph beside a James Bond icon.

It’s been more than two decades since Brodie-Sangster made his feature film debut as the loveable schoolboy Sam in Richard Curtis’ Love Actually.

Since then, the London-born hero has been in everything from Maze Runner and its subsequent sequels, to HBO’s Game of Thrones, and the seminal Netflix series The Queen’s Gambit alongside Anya Taylor-Joy.

Most recently, the Pistol favourite has been appearing as Jack Dawkins in the Disney+ series, The Artful Dodger, and played Rafe Sadler in the 2024 BBC adaptation of Hilary Mantel’s novel, The Mirror & the Light.

To put it bluntly, the icon has been putting out stellar entertainment projects for years upon years - but some people are still surprised to find out how old he is.

Brodie-Sangster, who is married to St. Trinian’s actress Talulah Riley, 39, has recently blown up on social media after his image was put beside that of the late Sir Sean Connery.

Connery is best known for portraying the first iteration of fictional British secret agent James Bond between 1962 and 1983.

After making his debut in Dr. No at just 32, Connery became the first Scottish actor to win the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1987, and was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for his services to drama in the 2000 New Year Honours.

An image of the father-of-one - who died on October 31, 2020 at the age of 90 - has been placed in a tweet beside Brodie Sangster by popular X account, ‘non aesthetic things’.

Sharing the side-by-side images, the X creator typed: “Sir Sean Connery (a UK actor) and Thomas Brodie Sangster (another UK actor).

“Both age 34 in their respective photographs.”

Naturally, X users are shocked at how different both actors look at 34, and have taken to the post’s comments section to have their say.

“The difference between ‘I've killed men with my bare hands’ and ‘I've killed my Tamagotchi by forgetting to feed it’,” joked one.

However, others were more surprised at the fact that Brodie-Sangster was 34! Are you one of them?

“Lil bro is 34?!,” someone else responded, as a third commented: “Are you sure that he is 34 years old?”

Another replied: “They’re both 34 in these pictures! Surprised? Sir. Sean Connery aged like a legend. Thomas Brodie Sangster? Aging… on pause. Same age, wildly different timelines.” (Sic)

In a 2021 interview with Mr Porter, Brodie-Sangster actually addressed his ‘baby-face’ complexion.

The publication writes that the only time looking younger than he is ‘bugs’ him is when audition feedback is based on his ‘fresh-faced looks rather than his acting chops.

He also once gave his ‘secret to eternal youth’ out in an interview with Cambridge Union.

"I don't know. Erm, genes?,” he began. "I've always looked at least three to four years younger than what I actually am, and I don't know why that is. It just seems to be the way

"To me, I just look like me. People always ask me that."
