1000-lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton has opened up about the one thing that surprised doctors after her skin removal transformation as fans all had the exact same reaction to the major reveal.
Since 2020, TLC viewers have been following the 38-year-old reality TV personality's emotional weight loss journey which saw her impressively lose 500lbs. In the latest update in the saga, Tammy finally sees the results of her eight-hour excess skin removal surgery - which removed 15 pounds of the excess skin.
In the new season finale, which aired earlier this week (10 June), Tammy could be seen in her hospital bed after the post-op as someone brings over a mirror so she can see her new look.
When she saw her face for the first time, speechless, the 1000-lb Sisters star simply reacted with a very taken aback: "Boy..."

Later, in a confessional, she said: "I’m shocked. Like, I feel so weird. I don’t have my hanging b******* off my face.
"My bat wings are gone too. And I look down and there’s not nothing there but my lap now. It’s gonna take a little while for me to get used to seeing myself like this."
Fans seemingly also had the exact same reaction too, rushing to social media to gush over just how proud they were of Tammy for pulling through.

Amid the avalanche of praise she's received, Tammy opened up to PEOPLE about what was going on in her head ahead of the life-changing surgery - confessing that she was more nervous about her skin removal, which took place earlier this year (18 January) than she was about undergoing bariatric surgery.
"After six years and losing over 500 pounds, I was finally approved for surgery," she explained. "I was just overwhelmed with excitement. I worked really hard for this, and now it's here.
"I'm pretty sure it was noticeable on my face how immediately shocked and then overwhelmed with joy I was."
Opening up a little further about the situation, Tammy continued: "I was really nervous for the skin removal surgery because I was really just kind of afraid of how I'm gonna feel looking at myself without the belly there.

"The night before my surgery, I was, like, seriously freaking terrified. I was even more nervous about having skin removal surgery than I was for the [sleeve gastrectomy] surgery because they’re actually cutting the whole belly!"
Following the successful surgery, which took a staggering eight hours, Tammy celebrated with her siblings - Amy, Amanda, Misty and Chris - upon finally returning home where she revealed the one thing that surprised doctors after her skin removal transformation.
"I surprised the doctors with how well my body was healing. I ended up coming home from Pittsburgh, like, four days early," she told the outlet.

Tammy had initially struggled to get approved for the procedure due to her vaping habit. This is because nicotine can delay healing and increase the risk of infection.
Sadly, Tammy’s joy around the results of her op have been slightly overshadowed by people accusing her of still vaping.
It began after a clip of Tammy at a meet and greet posted on TikTok began doing the rounds online, where she was seen using what looked like a vape.
Tammy later clarified that the vape was nicotine-free in a post on Instagram on Wednesday (11 June).

She wrote: "Everyone freaking out about me vaping, it’s non nicotine."
"I haven’t smoked nicotine in a year smh. Everybody always got something to say about everything but themselves, it’s ridiculous," Tammy concluded.
