And Just Like That: We Finally Have An Answer On Where Samantha Is In Sex And The City Reboot

In And Just Like That, viewers will get to see what Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte did next in New York City, as they navigate life and love in their early fifties.

As we know, Sex and the City legend Samantha Jones, played to perfection by Kim Cattrall, will not be featuring in the follow up series, after she and Sarah Jessica Parker (who plays Carrie) infamously feuded in real life.

Nope, the show will document that Carrie and Samantha had a major bust-up after Carrie fires Samantha as her publicist – and now she’s set up a new life across the pond…in London, to be precise.

“Sending her to Los Angeles wasn't an option as we'd done that in the first movie, so having her character based in London really was the perfect way to keep her alive and explain her absence.

“Viewers will learn that she is thriving in England even though she has fallen out with Carrie.”

While we’re yet to find out what the new series will entail, events will lead to Carrie reaching out to Samantha in the final episode.

“Carrie is the one who has the tough time without Samantha and by the end of And Just Like That, you'll see Carrie extend the olive branch and try and rekindle the friendship,” the insider teased.

“We have high hopes that by the time we begin filming the second season, Kim will have joined the show and Samantha Jones can make a triumphant return to the Big Apple.

“We want Kim back. She was missed on set. We all understand why she feels the way she does. We get it. We just want her to come back for future seasons.”

Fingers crossed we see Samantha back at the brunch table soon…
