It Turns Out We've Been Peeling Carrots Wrong This Whole Time

Ooooops...

You might think you know how to peel a carrot by now, but there's a good chance you've been doing it wrong forever.

One woman on TikTok has revealed the correct way to peel the vegetable - and it has completely blown our minds.

While we've spent our entire adult lives running the peeler down just one length of the carrot, it turns out it is not the most time effective method.

In fact, thanks to one woman on TikTok named Liv Dalton, you can actually use the peeler in both directions while rotating the carrot - meaning a quicker and more effective peel.

Because as we all know, peeling vegetables is just *so* boring. Liv even demonstrated the hack in a handy video.

Of course, it's important to be careful of your fingers because peeling and turning at the same time can be tricky. But once you get into the swing of it, you'll wonder how you ever managed before.

While some people always assumed the 'other side' of the peeler was for the left handed peelers among us, it's just not the case.

And other TikTok-ers were completely blown away by the hack, with the video racking up almost 1,500 likes and almost 500,000 plays.

It's not the only shocking video to come out of TikTok this week. In fact, on Tuesday, an American mum went viral for her video on how to make a British cup of tea - or what she describes as "hot tea".

The tea was heated in the microwave (

Michelle, who is living in the UK, decided to post tutorial on how to make a tea - but it left thousands of viewers traumatised.

Along with the help of her daughter Mykela, the pair began by filling up a mug with cold water and putting it in the microwave for one minute. Yes, the microwave.

Mykela then pours about half a pint of milk in the cup before chucking in a tea bag and adding the equivalent of 10 sugars to the milky liquid. It was a truly scarring watch.

Keep them coming TikTok, these videos are keeping us so entertained!
