October’s Full Moon, eerily nicknamed the Hunter’s Moon, is lighting up skies around the world, just in time for Halloween week.
As reported by the BBC, the glowing phenomenon earned its name as it’s known to sit in the sky for an especially long time, giving hunters extra light in the skies to spot animals.
The Hunter’s Moon peaked in the early hours of Monday morning (26 October) in the Zodiac sign of Taurus, directly opposing the Sun in Scorpio, and will appear completely full as it rises tonight.
For those of us who are more spiritually inclined, we know that Full Moons often bring buried feelings, secrets, or unresolved issues to light, while also being a time of transformation, closure, and shedding the things that no longer serve you.

Tyla spoke with astrologer Israel Ajose, who explained that the Hunter’s Moon in particular symbolises ‘a time of preparation, preservation and awareness of the resources needed to sustain life’.

He explained: “Astronomically, a Full Moon occurs when the Moon and Sun are positioned on opposite sides of Earth in terms of their apparent celestial longitudes, allowing us to see the Moon's illuminated face.”
Ajose outlined that in astrology, the Zodiac sign Taurus is associated with financial security, possessions, comfort and stability, making this Full Moon a time to reflect on what people value and what makes them feel secure - whether that's the people in your life, or the more practical aspects like money.
He said: “From a personal perspective, this Full Moon may encourage individuals to examine their financial circumstances, domestic security, emotional wellbeing and relationship with the material world.
“It can symbolise an opportunity to appreciate what has already been achieved, strengthen existing foundations and recognise the importance of creating greater stability in everyday life.”
While it can bring a lot of positives, Ajose has warned that the October Full Moon could also symbolically bring tensions around money, relationships and resistance to change to the surface.
The astrologer told Tyla: “From an astrological perspective, this Full Moon may highlight tensions involving financial security, emotional attachments and the balance between personal independence and shared obligations.
“Some individuals may become more conscious of disagreements about money, possessions, household responsibilities or the distribution of resources within relationships.”

He added: “Because Taurus is a fixed earth sign, there may also be a tendency towards stubbornness or resistance to necessary change.
“The desire to maintain stability can sometimes become an unwillingness to acknowledge that circumstances have evolved.”
However, on the other side of the coin, Ajose pointed out that the astrological event can also offer an opportunity to ‘reassess financial habits, appreciate existing resources and reconnect with activities that support emotional and physical wellbeing’.
He explained: “The Moon's exaltation in Taurus makes this a particularly meaningful period for reflecting upon emotional and material wellbeing.
“Astrologically, it can symbolise an opportunity to appreciate what has already been achieved, strengthen financial habits, reconnect with nature and develop a more balanced relationship with money and possessions.
“It may also encourage people to slow down and pay attention to their physical needs.
“Good food, sufficient rest, time outdoors, and a comfortable domestic environment can all support a greater sense of groundedness.”
