Woman Returns Home To Find Mutant Potato Has Overtaken Her Flat

Woman Returns Home To Find Mutant Potato Has Overtaken Her Flat

In a Little Shop of Horrors-worthy turn of events, a woman returned home after lockdown to find that a mutant potato plant had taken over her kitchen.

Donna Pore, 22, purchased a £2.25 (2.50) bag of spuds from her local Super U store in the town of L'Aigle, France back in March, with the intention of cooking them for her dinner.

But the pandemic had other plans, and Donna ended up leaving her flat in a hurry to spend quarantine with her boyfriend in the nearby town of Caen.

The potatoes, meanwhile, were left under a shelf in her kitchen.

If this were a horror movie, it's at this point that a shadow would be cast over kitchen. Cue the sinister music.

Three months later in June, lockdown restrictions were eased, and the unsuspecting woman returned home.

Walking into her kitchen, she was horrified to discover the unassuming bag of potatoes had grown tentacles and taken over her small 22 sq. metre flat.

The alien-like potato offshoots had spread everywhere, with pink tendrils climbing up the walls and across kitchen surfaces.

Seriously, Donna, never leave your carbs unattended.

Taking to Twitter to share the terrifying experience and post snaps of her out-of-control potato, Donna wrote: "I almost had a heart attack!"

We don't blame you, Donna.

Ordinarily, we can't get enough of potatoes, but after seeing this mutated version, we've been put right off our spuds.

Donna, we're not sure you can make a meal out of these anymore.
