A family of festive sausage dogs are looking for a new home this Christmas, and they're so adorable.

RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford and District Branch is currently looking after the huge litter, after they were left with nowhere to stay last month.

The rescue pups have been favourites of the staff since arriving in the branch with their mum Olive, a miniature Dachshund.

Named Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner, Blitzen and Rudolf, after Santa's reindeers, the group are currently being cared for 24/7 by workers from the charity.

But they're really looking for a more permanent home to call their own. The RSPCA is hoping to find the dogs loving families to join in early 2020.

Manager Julie Cockroft said: "We have to have one member of staff constantly allocated to these puppies as even the simplest of tasks - such as checking and cleaning their teeth - can take ages with nine wriggly, little puppies.

"They need a lot of care and, also, a lot of specialist things so if any members of the public are able to help by making donations or dropping off any useful items then that would be hugely helpful.

"We're particularly looking for puppy food and toys to keep them entertained.

She added that there's been a lot of interest in the pooches already.

"We are currently taking applications for these adorable little pups and we've been absolutely inundated with responses - with more than 500 coming into us in less than 24 hours, some from as far afield as Thailand," she said.

If you're interested in adopting the pups, you'll have to wait a while longer, as they're now only six weeks old and not old enough to leave the charity yet.

Their mum Olive is also looking for a home, alongside lots of other doggos.

But if you're looking to give one a home, make sure it's for life, not just for Christmas.
