Hannah Montana Prequel In The Works, According To Miley Cyrus' Dad

It has been nine years since Hannah Montana aired on the Disney channel and apparently it could now be returning.
The source of this fabulous news? Miley Cyrus' (who played Hannah Montana) dad, Billy Ray Cyrus.
In an interview with HollywoodLife last week, Billy Ray, who is 27-year-old Miley's real-life as well as on-screen dad, let slip that a prequel could be in the works and he's 100 per cent up for it.

He told the website: "They're talking about doing a prequel, which to me, I would do that in a heartbeat".
"Because that means I get to get my mullet back," he joked. His character Robbie Stewart sported the quirky hairstyle on the show as Hannah's dad and manager.
"I think there's a whole story that led up to Miley becoming Hannah Montana," he continued.
For those that aren't in the know, or who can't remember (it's been so long!), Miley plays youngster Miley Stewart in the show, who also leads a secret double life as pop star Hannah Montana.
Only few know her secret, including dad Robbie, brother Jackson (Jason Earles) and her two friends Lilly Truscott (Emily Osment) and Oliver Oken (Mitchell Musso).
So it sounds like if a prequel were to go ahead, it could explore Miley's life before moving to California and adopting her pop star double life.
But we could also see more about Robbie himself, since it is known in the show he also used to be a rock star called Robbie Ray, but retired to take care of his kids as a single widowed parent.
Perhaps we'll see more of his rockstar days and more about Miley/Hannah's mum, too?
We certainly wouldn't be against seeing more about wild Robbie, a much-loved character on the show, despite the fact he initially didn't want to be cast alongside his daughter Miley.
Billy Ray, 58, told Hollywood Life that they should "get a real actor". Although he had taken on several low-key acting roles over the years, he was predominantly a singer at the time.
He continued: "I don't want to mess that show up. They should get a real actor to play her dad, because this is a great script and a great concept".
'It's going to blow Miley up. It's going to be big.'"
What a sweet dad!
Despite his hesitations though, Billy Ray did pick up the role and four seasons and two movies later, he's as well known as Miley for the show.
And now, it sounds like he's keen to come back for more.
But as for which other characters would be up for a return is still unknown, but surely you can't have Hannah Montana without Miley Cyrus?
