Clueless Has Been Voted The Greatest Chick Flick Of All Time

In a poll conducted by Ranker, the 1995 teen comedy film came out on top. Directed by Amy Heckerling and starring Alicia Silverstone as Cher, there is so much to enjoy about it which makes it an obvious choice for the best ever chick flick.

The film follows Cher, a rich and shallow Beverly Hills high school student, who sees herself as a matchmaker and tries to encourage two of her teachers to fall in love.

Meanwhile, she finds herself falling for her nerdy ex-stepbrother Josh (Paul Rudd). Cher realises she enjoys doing good deeds and decides to adopt an awkward, unhip new student named Tai (played by Brittany Murphy) and along with her best friend Dionne (Stacey Dash), who is having relationship trouble with her boyfriend Murray (Donald Faison), they turn Tai into a total Betty.

Another classic favourite is Legally Blonde which is in second place. The 2001 comedy stars Reese Witherspoon, who makes a number of appearances on this list, as sorority girl Elle Woods, who attempts to win back her ex-boyfriend Warner Huntington III (Matthew Davis) by getting a Juris Doctor degree at Harvard Law School all whilst overcoming negative stereotypes against blondes.

Tissues at the ready because the movie in third place is a tearjerker. You guessed it, The Notebook. It tells the story of two lovers separated by fate, played by Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams. In fact, Rachel has two truly iconic films on the list, the second being Mean Girls at number four.
