The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have shared a video of baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor online, giving fans their first proper glimpse of the little one.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle took to their Instagram stories on Wednesday to offer their 9.5 million followers a rare look at their happy family in full as they set off to meet Archbishop Desmond Tutu at his legacy foundation in Cape Town, on the third day of their South Africa tour.

In the clip - which marks four-month-old Archie's first ever official royal engagement - a beaming Meghan holds her son in her arms and clutches his hand lovingly, while Prince Harry puts his arm around his wife.

Meghan, who dons a blue and white patterned dress, can sweetly be seen talking to the tot as they walk past the camera, while he adorably coos back to her.

Dressed in the cutest blue dungarees, Archie then turns to his dad and gives him a smile - showing that he already seems to be enjoying royal life.

As they posted the video, the royals joked "Arch meets Archie!," in the caption.

Archie's appearance will delight many who have been keen to catch a recent look at the little one, who has certainly grown since his birth on May 6.

When asked if he would be joining them on any public engagements in Africa, Meghan and Harry initially said they would "see how they felt".

However, Archie is clearly up for the job if his smiley appearance was anything to go by.

In fact, as they arrived to meet the Archbishop, reports suggest Thandeka could be heard telling the royals Archie is going to be a "ladies man" when he's older, while Meghan is said to have told him her son has "cameras in his genes".

The visit to the Archbishop is the last trip Meghan and Harry will take together while in Africa, before The Queen's grandson leaves his family to enjoy some R & R as he heads to Botswana alone.

Harry will then jet to Angola, where he'll visit the landmine clearance project his late mother, Princess Diana once visited while campaigning to ban landmines.

The royals have understandably been notoriously private about their son in the past, only giving the public a handful of glimpses of the little one so far.

They last official pictures of Archie on his Christening in July, while a few blurry snaps were also taken of the little one at the polo with his parents the same month.

Archie was first introduced to the world on May 20, with Harry and Meghan taking a new step and opting to have some time alone as a family before allowing him to make his public debut.

What a cutie.
