They say third time’s the charm, but one character in the new season of Nobody Wants This is proving to be anything but charming according to some, and viewers aren’t keeping their feelings under wraps.
The new season of Netflix’s beloved romantic comedy arrived today and fans wasted no time to catch up. In season three, fans see the next stage in the unlikely romance between Joanne, an agnostic woman who works as an outspoken sex and dating podcaster, and Noah, a young Jewish rabbi.
Created by Erin Foster and inspired by her real-life love story, the show follows Joanne and Noah as they navigate cultural differences and modern day dating. In the new batch of episodes, the couple officially move in together and committing to their relationship.
But a mere few hours after the highly anticipated new season arrived on the streaming platform, fans rushed to social media to complain about Joanne. She’s always been a yapper who is blunt and quick-witted however some fans are airing their frustrations about some of her actions in the first episode.

Titled “It’s Perfect”, Joanne and Noah take the next big step in their relationship by moving in together. Despite being happier than ever as a couple, they soon discover that living together comes with its own challenges, as their everyday habits begin to get on each other’s nerves, and apparently the nerves of some fans.
“Joanne is a slob,” one viewer on Reddit declared. “Her character is immature but if the genders were reversed people would be hating if a man was the slob.”
Another viewer agreed, stating: “Very true how are these 30+ people this immature cause she has been annoying and intolerable in these three episodes and it’s no more ‘aww cute’ like it was in the first season.”
Another concerned fan asked: “I am sorry but him drinking the coffee that she spit out is that something couples do?”
While someone else confessed: “This made me barf I love my husband and I would NEVER drink coffee he spat out.”

Another viewer wrote: “I don’t like how she’s complaining about small petty things but living such a rich and affluent life. He quit his dream job and catered to her whims yet she’s the one complaining.”
Others agreed, with one fan writing: “Joanne is written as an insufferable character. They deserve each other.”
Other viewers tried to find the middle ground while also defending Joanne. “Couples will find small petty things to complain about when they first move in together. I think it’s a normal adjustment period everyone has to go through.”
Plus, season three has had rave reviews from critics and fans alike so far.
When Nobody Wants This debuted on Netflix in 2024, viewers fell for its witty take on love, faith and family. But behind the fictional romance lies Erin’s relationship with her husband, Simon Tikhman. Like Joanne and Noah, the couple come from different religious backgrounds, making their relationship an interfaith love story of their own.
