Jessie J returned to Instagram on Sunday after her second breast cancer reconstruction surgery.
More than one year after her diagnosis, the singer, 38, shared how she was cancer free in May but had to have surgery again, leading to her recent six-week break from social media, reports the Daily Mail.
In a post showing how she was recovering from surgery she referenced a shared joke with her father about her chest in the caption: “My Dad can’t make the joke ‘She’d make a great flat mate’ anymore. Talk to me nice.”
Another image showed her smiling with her thumbs up, saying she was ‘healing’.

Other posts included inspirational quotes and images of Jessie spending time with her son, Sky, 3.
In the past 24 months she has raised her son, released an album, been told she was cancer-free and gotten through a breakup.
After a busy two years, in September The Voice UK coach announced she was taking a break from social media to recharge.
Jessie broke up with her partner, Danish-Israeli basketball star Chanan Safir Colman, three years after having Sky.
Before coming off social media she released an emotional post explaining she had made the decision to ‘speed up the healing process’.

She wrote: “I want to start this post off by saying I am ok. I am not at my best but very far from my worst. I know people can twist these kinds of posts.
“It's no secret that the last 2 years have been magical, successful, life changing and extremely busy.”
Jessie explained how she has ‘mostly’ loved the last two years, ‘hated it in moments’ and “learnt the most I have ever learnt about myself and what I want from my life and mostly what I want it to FEEL like.”
She continued: “To name a few things that have happened in the last 2 years… 1. Put out an album for the first time in 8 years 2. Moved country (USA to UK) 3. Being diagnosed and beating breast cancer 4. Touring the world 5. Going through a breakup 6. Raising a toddler 7. Doing my own socials, styling, hair + makeup everyday.

“Rightly so (it would be weird if it hadn't). The past 2 years has taken a toll on parts of me that I haven't had time to give space and grace to.
“Now's the time. Work has slowed down. So healing speeds up please.
“So I'm tapping out of this [world] for a while and into my real one. To give my mind, body and heart a well needed hug.”
According to the Daily Mail, Jessie said she had decided to go public with her cancer battle so she could better process her diagnosis and share solidarity with those experiencing similar health journeys.
