Actress Sophia Bush has opened up at last about her short-lived marriage to ex-One Tree Hill co-star Chad Michael Murray.
Bush, 44, writes about the relationship in her new memoir, And I Will Tell You Mine: Notes from a Life in Progress.
The book, released on October 27, offers an emotional glimpse into the relationship more than 20 years after the pair broke up.
Bush details their romance, the warning signs she sees now but overlooked at the time, and the alleged infidelities she says contributed to the downfall of the marriage.

The actress has largely avoided answering questions on the relationship in the past, but she is now ready, she told People, to revisit ‘the thing I never want to speak about.

Murray and Bush became romantically involved while working together in the hit drama One Tree Hill in 2003. The chemistry Murray, who played Lucas Scott, shared with Bush, who was Brooke Davis, spilled over into real life, in a relationship that captured the hearts of audiences at the time.
They married in 2005, but after five months they announced their separation. Bush wrote she was initially attracted to Murray’s vulnerability and willingness to talk about his struggles, which she said activated her ‘nurturer gene’.
However, she alleged the relationship quickly broke down because of ‘the insecurity, the possessiveness and the controlling demands’, which she says spiralled into arguments.
In her memoir, Bush describes how her former co-star and friend Hilarie Burton Morgan had previously warned her off from entering a relationship with Murray.
Bush said Morgan shared concerns about Murray, however when she confronted him, she said he expressed ‘embarrassment’ and a willingness to change, which she said she believed.
In an October 21 interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Bush acknowledged that Morgan ‘was right’ and she had failed to recognise the warning signs she felt he was giving off back then.
The memoir also tackles allegations by Bush that Murray was involved with other women while they were together.

She described hearing rumours of infidelity, but she denied them and defended Murray, however as she got closer to her wedding day and arguments continued, she began to have doubts about the upcoming marriage.
She also remembered becoming concerned when one of the groomsmen at her wedding failed to show up on the day, citing illness.
When she followed up she said the discussion became about whether Murray had been seeing other women.
Bush told Parade she told Murray not to appear at her 23rd birthday celebration because: “I couldn’t do another fight or another humiliating show of him marking his territory with my coworkers.”
Tyla has contacted Murray’s representatives for comment and his response to the revelations found in the memoir has not yet been established.

Bush detailed how she struggled to come to terms with the decision as to whether to include her relationship with Murray in her book because of the complications around sharing intimate details with fans, but in Call Her Daddy, she recalled how it was her editor who put the question to bed by saying, “I hate to break it to you: Google exists.”
Speaking with People, she said how she ultimately decided, "In a way, some of those more personal stories, I could only make sense of them if they helped other people make sense of something."
