Rebel Wilson says being ‘dumped’ by famous woman led her to meeting fiancée Ramona Agruma

She said that the 'dalliance' helped pave the way for her to meet the love of her life

Rebel Wilson has revealed that a doomed ‘dalliance’ with a famous woman left her ‘open’ to meeting fiancée Ramona Agruma.

The 43-year-old star, who recently welcomed her first daughter Royce Lillian via surrogate, said that although she never considered herself ‘100 percent straight’ she had only previously dated men until she embarked on her ‘year of love’.

Speaking on the U Up? podcast, Rebel said she decided to go out with ‘anybody who asked me out’ and used the celeb dating app Raya to bag herself dates.

It was during this time she connected with the woman, who she chose not to name, and said the feelings she felt ‘totally came as, I don't know... a blindside’.

Rebel said the pair initially met as friends, before she realised her feelings had turned romantic and ended up confessing her feelings.

She added: "It wasn't what I was expecting to happen in that year.

"I never thought I was 100 percent straight, but I was only ever dating men."

The Pitch Perfect star said that while the woman also admitted to feeling the same way, the relationship wasn’t to be and it ‘didn’t end up going anywhere’.

However, this non-starter helped pave the way for Rebel to meet the love of her life, so it all worked out pretty well.

Rebel continued: "But if I never had that little dalliance, I don't think I would have ever been open to meeting Ramona.

"The person said they weren't interested in dating me. So I, for the first time, kind of got dumped.

"Their career was very important, so I'm being very careful because they're in the public eye as well. But I had all these feelings, and I never had feelings for a woman like that before so it was all new and exciting.

"I learned that maybe my heart could be open romantically to a woman, and I met Ramona soon after.”

The couple got engaged earlier this year.

Rebel and Ramona went official with their relationship in June last year, and the pair got engaged last month while on a trip to Disneyland.

Announcing the good news on Instagram, Rebel wrote: “We said YES! Thank you @tiffanyandco for the stunning ring and to Bob Iger and the incredible team at Disneyland @disneyweddings for pulling off this magical surprise!"

In the accompanying snaps, the couple could be seen in adorable matching pink and white striped sweaters in front of Cinderella’s Castle.
