Britney Spears has taken to Instagram to hit out at her younger sister Jamie Lynn's actions during the Covid-19 pandemic.
On Monday (2 November), the American singer, 44, posted a photo of Dakota Fanning’s character in the movie Uptown Girls, where she’s throwing up her middle finger and rolling her eyes.
She brutally wrote in the caption: “I will find a new family !!! Jamie Lynn never let me hold Ivy [sic] one time when I would visit in Louisiana during covid in two week trips and Kevin wouldn’t let me use the bathroom when I would pick my children up in their house !!!”
Ivey is Britney's eight-year-old niece. In 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic, the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention advised that people stay six feet apart to limit the spread of the disease.

The post continued: “They made me feel like a slave and have all their secret things they did behind my back and all I ever did was work for my dad !!! I will find a new family !!!”
Britney and her sister, as well as the rest of the Spears family, have reportedly had a strained relationship for years, spurred by her conservatorship.

In 2008, the pop musician's estate and personal affairs were placed under the control of her father Jamie Spears.
Although her father claimed the conservatorship was aimed at 'saving' his daughter's life, following a lengthy legal battle, a judge eventually ruled that the conservatorship should end in November 2021.
Since then, Britney has spoken about the alleged turmoil she faced whilst under the control of her family, which she said also contributed to the breakdown of her relationship with her siblings.
In her 2023 memoir The Woman In Me, Britney wrote: "She will always be my sister, and I love her and her beautiful family.
"I'm working to feel more compassion than anger toward her and toward everyone who I feel has wronged me."
She said she ‘felt betrayed’ by her family once her conservatorship ended.
The singer alleged: “My sister and I should have found comfort in each other, but unfortunately that hasn't been the case.
“As I was fighting the conservatorship and receiving a lot of press attention, she was writing a book capitalizing on it. She rushed out salacious stories about me, many of them hurtful and outrageous. I was really let down."
"Shouldn't sisters be able to confess their fear or vulnerability to each other without that later being used as evidence of instability?"

During her appearance on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2023, Jamie also publicly spoke out about the family fallout.
She said: “She’s a good big sister, she is. I love her. Me and her throw down. The world’s seen that. I’ve learned to stop talking about it publicly, but you know what? Families fight. Listen, we just do it better than most.”
She added that she is the ‘one person’ in the singer’s life that has ‘never taken anything from her’.
Jamie Lynn continued: “Me and her both have had a very complicated upbringing. We’ve had very complicated circumstances and we both had to deal with them in different ways. And sometimes we took it out on each other when perhaps we shouldn’t have.”
