Creamy, tangy, with just the right amount of spice. Mmm. It's the stuff to take a large serving of chips from PERi-nice to PERincredible (sorry).
Now vegan fans of the restaurant chain can share in the joy, as Nando's has today announced its brand new Vegan PERinaise - billed as a plant-based twist on the fan-favourite sauce.
The plant-based PERinaise will land in restaurants and hit the shelves at Tesco supermarkets on January 1st.
Just in time for Veganuary, then. Great news for vegans, flexitarians, and those taking on the month-long vegan eating challenge.
Plus, it's perfect timing for all those New Year hangovers.
Promising to be just as lip-smackingly good as the spice-laced original, Vegan PERinaise is the first plant-based substitute to be developed by the masters of PERi-PERi.
With veganism on the rise, and vegan menus flourishing across so many major supermarkets and restaurant chains, could this be the first in a string of vegan Nando's alternatives?
We love trying out vegan substitutes to your favourite condiments. Come January you'll find us slathering planet-friendly PERinaise over a selection of veggie Nando's staples, including corn-on-the-cob (hold the butter), Spicy Rice and Macho Peas.
The Nando's team say: "The introduction of Vegan PERinaise will finally allow anyone opting for a plant-based meal to indulge in one of the brand's most beloved condiments - whether in restaurant, or when creating the Nando's experience at home!"
Nando's new Vegan PERinaise will be available to purchase from 1st January in restaurants across the UK for 60p, with takeaway options available, as well as 265g bottles of the sauce stocked at Tesco supermarkets RRP £1.90.
