Foodies, we have some devastating news to share - M&S has scrapped one of their fan-favourite Christmas cookie flavours.
Most of us know by now that the high-street supermarket is the go-to when it comes to festive snacks and sweet treats - so much so that the brand’s Director of Product Development, Kathryn Turner, has become a celebrity in her own right.
Whether it’s the Very Merry Munch tins or savoury picky bit creations, each year, fans eagerly wait for the delicious line-up to be announced, to see which favourites are making a comeback.
And this year, it’s already been confirmed that a beloved cookie flavour won’t be appearing on shelves, to the dismay of its hardcore fans.

We’re sadly talking about the Peppermint Bark Cookies, which went viral and flew off the shelves last Christmas.
The jolly treats were made with dark and white chocolate, and filled with crunchy red and white candy pieces, red chocolate beans, and a hint of peppermint, retailing for £3.25 for a pack of five.

However, this year, a Marks & Spencer Food spokesperson has told Metro: “We chose not to bring back the Peppermint Bark Cookie this year, as we always want to bring in new flavours to the Foodhall.
“However, if you’re still hankering after them, pick up our Peppermint & Chocolate Wafer Rolls or Chocolate Peppermint Bark the next time you’re in store.”
It’s safe to say the news is not going down well with food fans, as one social media user has desperately pleaded: “@marksandspencer please I need to know if the peppermint bark cookies are returning!? The best cookie you ever made!”
While a second added: “Tell Kathryn to bring these back now!!! I need them. Why would you not bring them back????”
And a third said the news that they won’t be making a comeback has ‘ruined’ their whole year’. Not dramatic at all.
Meanwhile, a fourth asked: “@marksandspencer pls tell me ur peppermint bark cookies WILL be returning this year. I will cry if you say no.”
And a fifth chimed in with: “I’m gonna cry if M&S don’t bring back their peppermint bark cookies this year.”

To fill the cookie-shaped hole in your heart, though, the supermarket has brought back the equally viral and delicious Gingerbread and White Chocolate cookies, as well as a slew of other products, both new and returning.
As reported by Metro, shoppers can expect everything from Pistachio Star Chocolate to a Malt Balls Selection box, and Collection Sticky Figgy Mustard.
One social media user wrote: “The M&S food Christmas range is about to see my entire wages because I need it all.”
While a second joked: “The adult upgrade of circling all the food you want from the M&S Christmas catalogue as opposed to being a kid and circling the Argos one. Both very exciting though in my opinion.”
And a third wrote: “book club but it’s the m&s christmas food brochure.”
Tyla has contacted M&S for additional comment.
