The Starbucks menu has arrived but fans are mourning one drink that’s been hailed a ‘Holiday icon’.
This winter festive season has officially begin with the arrival of the new drinks inspired by one of the classic Italian desserts: Tiramisu Velvet Latte and Tiramisu Velvet Cold Brew.
There are also returning festive favourites like the Peppermint Mocha, Caramel Brulée Latte and Sugar Cookie Latte.
But one drink that’s on many wish lists this winter is the Chestnut Praline, a signature winter holiday beverage that combined a caramelised chestnut flavour with winter spices, espresso and milk. You could say it’s reminiscent of the chestnuts roasting on an open fire at European Christmas markets, but in a single cup.

Coffee lovers are so heartbroken by the drink missing from the announcement that they’ve taken to social media to lament. One customer on Reddit said they were ‘heartbroken’, writing: “I am so disappointed that Starbucks isn’t bringing back THE holiday icon. That drink marked the holiday season for me for over a decade. I am a former partner who worked at Starbucks from 2014-2018, and drank my body weight in chestnut praline syrup. I don’t even go to Starbucks on a regular basis anymore but look forward to those stupid sprinkles every single year. Anyone else devastated over this loss?”

Another fan gushed: “Legitimately my favourite coffee drink in existence.”
While another Starbucks customer recalled: “The Chestnut Praline is literally my favourite Starbucks drink. It had a subtle sweetness to it, which was such a nice change.”
They added: “Last year I only managed to get one or two before it was sold out at every Starbucks in my area.”
And someone else confessed: “I’m still holding out hope for a secret drop in the second holiday launch, but it’s doubtful.”
Several other comments highlighted just how ‘upset’ customers were, with some revealing that the nutty beverage was all they drank throughout the holiday season.
“I’m calling the police on Starbucks,” another coffee lover joked.

In a separate tribute post, one fan shared an emotional farewell, writing: “An open space to grieve the loss of chestnut praline. I am considering screaming into the corporate abyss in a futile attempt to convince them that nobody would miss sugar cookie the way we will reflect fondly on the holiday beverage cornerstone.”
Another fan echoed the sentiment, admitting: “I’m actually crashing out rn. Chestnut praline is my little holiday spark of joy.”
“I literally just said to my partner how excited I was for chestnut praline this year! Guess I’ll drink my own tears over ice,” another customer added.
The menu also includes the Caramel Brulée Latte, Iced Caramel Brulée Cream Chai, Iced Sugar Cookie Latte, Iced Sugar Cookie Cream Matcha, Peppermint Mocha and Iced Gingerbread Cream Chai, alongside several hot and blended variations of the festive favourites.
Meanwhile, the Starbucks menu for the UK introduces a new Peppermint range, featuring the Peppermint Mocha, Peppermint Hot Chocolate, Iced Peppermint White Chocolate Matcha and Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino. Returning festive favourites include the Toffee Nut Latte, Gingerbread Latte and Eggnog Latte.
