The study looked at thousands of posts by owners on petforums.co.uk. It analysed emoji reactions to all pet-related content to see which breeds are making the most people smile, laugh or cry - and the results speak for themselves!

Golden Retrievers were found to be the most loved pet online, with an average of 222 'love' reactions per online post, and the highest number of posts overall, with 4.4 million in the last year alone.

Meanwhile the Bengal cat received the second-highest number of posts, with 2.4 million in the past year - and they are also the funniest pet online, with 17 laughing emojis per post.

Meanwhile, Great Danes had the most sad face reactions, with their puppy dog eyes gaining the sympathy vote!

And Labradoodles seem to be causing the most mischief, with the breed attracting plenty of angry face reactions - a whopping 79 per post!

Meanwhile, when it comes to the most destructive pets, there are some key players in that category, too.

Staffordshire Bull Terriers are thought to be the clumsiest breed, with 1 in 20 mentions of of broken phones, plant pots and glasses. Meanwhile, Labradors are most likely to go to the toilet on your carpet!

Collies are often the culprit for chewed skirting boards and sofas, while in the garden, Shih Tzus are most likely to dig up your flower bed!

When it comes to greediness, Beagles will steal food from your plates, tip over the bin or ransack open cupboards!

No matter how cheeky, mischievous, destructive or greedy - we still love our fur babies all the same!
