Harvest Moon explained as astrologer reveals top zodiac signs affected by it this weekend
We'll be treated to a Full Harvest Moon this weekend, with the cosmic event being visible in the UK at 5:49 pm
It's been a busy month astrologically speaking.
We saw a Diamond-Studded Moon on the 3rd, a New Moon on the 11th, as well as the Autumn Equinox on the 23rd and, now, we've got the Full Harvest Moon on Saturday (26 September).
But what does this actually mean - and which zodiac signs will feel its impact the most?

Well, luckily for us, Clarisse Monahan, Soho House’s resident astrologer, has since given Tyla an exclusive, all-in-one guide to the subject.
What is the Harvest Moon?
Clarisse, whose new book Rise & Align: Your Weekly Guide to Channelling the Power of the Planets is out next month (22 October), explains that the Harvest Moon is the Full Moon that falls closest to the Autumn Equinox, which was on Wednesday (23 September).
"It can land just before or just after it, depending on the year," she says.
"Traditionally, farmers, yeomen and tillers of the land would harvest their crops by its light to guide their labours deep into the electricity-free evenings. In essence, this moon pretty much signals the end of summer; fields fallow."
What is the significance of the Harvest Moon?
According to the astrologer, the Harvest Moon has a different meaning astrologically than it does agriculturally.
"Because the Equinox sits right on the seam between Virgo and Libra, the Harvest Moon swings between two possible placements: if it falls before the Equinox, while the Sun is still in Virgo, we get a dreamy Pisces Moon," Clarisse explains.
However, if it falls on or after the Equinox, once the Sun has shifted into Libra, we get a fiery Moon-In-Aries.
"This year, the Harvest Moon will occur on September 26th, after the Equinox: Aries it is," she adds.
While Clarisse prefers a dreamy Pisces Moon, which is all about emotional attunement and spiritual seeking, she notes that an Aries Moon is nothing to be sniffed at, especially as we hurtle toward Q4 and the manic press of reaching corporate targets and KPIs.
"Indeed, Aries is a fire, cardinal sign, meaning it tends to prompt us to take bold action," she continues.
"While some Full Moons are about intimacy and connection, this one is more independent and autonomous. How can I reach my goals? This is very different from, say, an Aquarius Moon, which tends to be about emotional fulfilment through collective action.
"Aries Moon doesn’t ask about humanity."
What are the top zodiac signs affected by the Harvest Moon and why?
Since this year’s Harvest Moon takes place in Aries, those born during Aries season (March 20th to April 19th) will feel it the most, Clarisse says.
"Each sign only gets one Full Moon in its own zodiac placement per year, which is always the most personal," she explains.
"Full Moons bring things to light and put the spotlight on you. For Aries people, expect heightened Aries themes: a need to compete, more drive, ambition."
The expert also outlines that Aries is a cardinal sign, so it impacts the other cardinal signs most broadly: Cancer, Libra and Capricorn.
"Cardinal signs all share an important trait in common, they each herald the beginning of a season," she adds. "So cardinal energy is inherently about initiating and propelling things forward."
And while all the cardinal signs will feel this Moon, Libra will feel it most intensely (after Aries).
Why? Well, as Clarisse puts it, a Full Moon in Aries occurs exactly opposite the Sun in Libra.
"Libras may be torn between a desire for harmony, togetherness, and consensus in important life partnerships and this Aries Moon stirring an incompatible urge for self-centred, me-first unilateralism," she warns.
Well, I guess we'll just have to see how the cosmic event plays out!
