Lily James appeared on TV for the first time on Wednesday after cancelling a string of gigs, in order to speak to Jimmy Fallon.
The actress has been off the grid ever since she was spotted looking cosy with married The Affair actor Dominic West in Rome.
But the 31-year-old failed to address the scandal with West, 51, when she appeared on The Jimmy Fallon Show, instead talking about her new movie, Rebecca, and reflecting on fresh rumours that Mamma Mia! 3 could be on the cards.

Skirting around the topic, Jimmy instead asked about the much anticipated sequel to the ABBA inspired film, after rumours a third instalment could be coming.
"The producers say it was meant to be a trilogy, so there may be a Mamma Mia! 3 in the works. Would you be interested?," he said.

"Yes, I would do four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, 10," she replied. "I'm down. Signed, sealed, delivered, I'm theirs."
Lily also discussed her new film Rebecca - in which she stars alongside Armie Hammer.
"My whole life I've had these recurring nightmares where a dark figure walks towards me and leans over me and I wake up screaming," Lily said, discussing the link she has to the film, where she plays wife of a handsome widower, Maxim de Winter.

'I was in a dorm for nearly 10 years with one girl when I was at school and she would comfort me almost once a week, I would end up screaming.
"I have only just realised this but her name is Rebecca. So I think she has been screwing with me my entire life."
After pictures of Lily and Dominic together in Rome emerged, it is reported that Lily pulled out of press junket at 45 minutes' notice, as well as rescheduling The Graham Norton Show and Monday's Today Show in America.

Meanwhile, Dominic put on a united front with his wife Catherine FitzGerald as they locked lips outside their house in the Cotswolds, telling reporters they were "strong" and "very much still together".
Tyla contacted both Lily and Dominic for further comment.
