And judging by their reaction, Brooklyn Nine-Nine is set to be as cheeky and raucous as ever.

For those of you who haven't watched the series, Brooklyn Nine-Nine follows the misadventures of the talented yet boyish Jake Peralta (played by Andy Samberg), who often buts heads with his more serious commanding officer, Captain Raymond Holt (Andre Braugher).

The seventh season is set to follow on from the numerous events was saw in season 6 - fans will remember that Holt slides into a deep depression after he fails to get the commissioner gig against John Kelly (Phil Reeves). While Jake and partner Amy (Melissa Fumero) try and talk him into taking a stand against Kelly, the new commissioner makes things very hard for the Nine-Nine.

While Jake and Holt's combative relationship is what has defined Brooklyn Nine-Nine, their common enemy in Kelly sees the pair join forces to bring him down. After discovering that Kelly is using his new anonymous tip app to illegally wiretap the population, John and Holt decide to get in touch with old rivals to expose Kelly - and seeing him forced out the position with Madeline Wuntch (Kyra Sedgwick) taking over.

Wuntch's new powers allow her to solve the rest of the problems that have been bubbling under the surface all season - with Terry Jeffords (Terry Crews) now allowed to stay after he was previously told he may have to transfer.

The seventh season may allow us to see more of Gina (played by Chelsea Peretti) - with chose to quit the Nine-Nine last season to become an internet celebrity.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine was initially cancelled by Fox after its sixth season.
