Parents of triplets trolled after naming baby after major city

They announced the names of their unborn sons on Facebook with a grand reveal

The parents of unborn triplets are being trolled online after naming one of their babies after a major city, admitting they'd actually suggested it as a joke at first before becoming attached.

Bloggers Jordan and Rachel Flom regularly post updates about their family life after becoming parents to a daughter.

However, their brood is set to grow drastically when they give birth to triplet sons, with Jordan admitting in a recent video that he ‘instantly hit the floor’ when he found out they were expecting not one but THREE babies.

"My wife just laughed,” he said.

"I will never forget those moments in the ultrasound room."

Since then, they’ve been getting ready for their expanding family with excitement, taking fans along the way with them.

They’ve even picked out the three names for their sons, having done a grand reveal on Facebook.

Jordan wrote: “Announcing Names of the Triplets! My beautiful wife is 26 weeks pregnant with Triplet boys and we have officially locked in the names!

“All of you have been such a big encouragement to us so we wanted you to feel part of this process with our family!”

In the accompanying video, Jordan explained that they’d been inspired by geography.

“We have named the triplets, three boys in case you didn’t know,” he said.

“Locklan means from the lands of lakes. I’m from Minnesota.

“Baby B’s name is Wilder Scott. Wilder we just really loved, but then we found out that his family grew up in Wilder, Minnesota.

“The name of Baby C is Brisbane Leigh. We might say Bris for short. Leigh is my middle name, and I lived in Brisbane, Australia for six months.

“It just meant a lot to me and I jokingly said the name Brisbane once. I don’t think it is a name, but we’re making it one.

“The meaning of Brisbane ... we looked it up after we locked in the name, and the meaning of Brisbane is ‘breaking of bones’. Which means he might be a sports player.”

Commenting on the video, which was also posted on the family’s Instagram page, many people weren’t too convinced - especially by the third name.

Speaking about the decision to call one of the triplets ‘Brisbane’, one person commented: “He’s not going to like it.”

Another joked: “You should name your next kid Ipswich.”

A third added: “Imagine someone named after Perth though.”

Others didn’t like the set of names in general.

“Why are the names all focused on the dad?” one asked, with someone else saying: “Some people just shouldn’t name children. These are human beings who will have to spend their entire lives with these names, they aren’t pets who will never care or understand the origin of a name they respond to for treats.”

Another said: “Wtf these poor kids.”

While Jordan and Rachel had asked their followers what they thought, they stressed that the names had already been decided.

“If you don’t like the names, well, we’re not changing it,” Jordan said.

“They’re locked in, we made banners.”
