Do you wash your hair brush? No, us neither. But one TikTok user has revealed why you should be washing your brushes every two weeks.

Jessica Haizman took to her platform to explain she cleans hers every fortnight, first pulling out all the excess hairs, before giving the brushes a bath.

"Have you ever cleaned your hair brushes? And I'm not talking about just pulling the hair out of your hair brushes, we all know to do that once in a while," she said.

"But realistically you're supposed to clean your hair brushes once every two weeks. I started by pulling out as much hair as I could and then I gave them a bath.

"I'm all about using products that aren't harmful for your skin. I used half a cup of baking soda and shampoo. So I worked that into my brushes and then let them soak.

"Immediately, the water started turning brown and gross. I let them soak for 30 minutes before taking them out. Here's what the water looked like and I don't dye my hair or use much product."

One Jessica had removed the brushes, the water was a murky brown and grey colour, with the TikTok user adding: "I then rinse them really well and let them air dry."

And followers were in shock over the clip, with one writing: "Girl, I barely brush my hair once every two weeks."

While another added: "I've never cleaned my brush."

Others, however, were shocked that some people don't clean their hair brushes more regularly. One follower commented: "I clean mine every time I use it."

While another said: "Wait...wait.. hold on! You mean to tell me people don't do this every day??"

"No... I'm doing it daily! Who's waiting that long?" Wrote another.

We have to admit, we are so impressed with people managing to clean their brushes every single day!
