You Can Now Get Half Christmas Trees So You Don't Have To Decorate The Back

Perfect for small spaces or lazy tree decorators!

Every time the festive season rolls round and we put up the Christmas tree, we find that one side of our glitzy spruce gets neglected.

While the front is always laden with baubles and assorted treasures, invariably there's a portion of the tree that's backed up against a wall and out of sight, meaning it remains rather bald and unloved.

Now there's a solution for anyone who doesn't have the time, energy or inclination to commit to 360-degree tree decoration: namely, half Christmas trees.

Offered by retailer Hammacher Schlemmer, the Against The Wall Christmas Tree looks a little, well, bonkers to begin with. Take a look for yourself:

But once sitting against a wall and styled with the deccies, ribbons or tinsel of your choosing, they're oh-so-festive - and appear as though they're magically popping out of the wall behind them.

Measuring 78" H x 43" W x 22" D, the trees boughs provide a sense of lush, dense foliage and are pre-strung with multicolour or warm white LEDs rated for 25,000 hours.

The half trees are a great space-saving solution for smaller rooms and homes - and mean that you only need to fork out on half the number of decorations and lights, too.

Whether you have family staying and need to maximise on space, or the dimensions of your room make it awkward to accommodate a full-size tree, this could provide a solution.

There's also a half tree option decked out in rainbow lights, if you prefer a bright and vibrant multi-colour spruce.

Admittedly, the half trees don't come cheap, retailing at a price tag of $249.95 (£193.33) but given that the trees are made to be used year-on-year, the cost per use is likely to work out at good value.

We've seen these used in businesses as well as homes - and we can honestly say that they consistently look as festive as a full-size tree.

Elsewhere in the world of half Christmas trees we discovered the Italian-designed Arbor Vitae Fir Half Tree.

Measuring 5ft tall, the Arbor Vitae costs just £35.99 from Christmas Tree World.

Or how about the Chelsea Flatback Artificial Christmas Tree?

Retailing for £59.90 on Amazon, the 6ft tree is hand-strung with clear LED lights and crafted with an abundance of True Needle tips, for an incredibly realistic look.

From the rich green needles to the light brown stems, each branch is designed to look super lifelike in shape, colour, and texture.

Christmas by half measures isn't an idea we thought we'd be on board with - until we saw these, that is.
