Linda Evangelista says she hasn't dated since cosmetic treatment left her 'disfigured'

The Canadian supermodel underwent failed cryolipolysis fat-reduction procedures in 2015 and 2016

Canadian supermodel Linda Evangelista has long been recognised as one of the most beautiful women in the history of the world - alright for some, ey?

Anyway, as well as having snatched cheekbones and legs to die for, the 58-year-old superstar is also known for her refreshing honesty when it comes to the highs and lows of the entertainment industry.

And this week, Evangelista has opened up to press about her current relationship status - a topic commonly off-limits amongst models and celebrities.

Though she enjoyed a stream of star-studded relationships during her time in the spotlight - including with Desperate Housewives actor Kyle MacLachlan and French footballer Fabien Barthez - it seems as though Evangelista would describe herself as somewhat unlucky in love.

But speaking to the Sunday Times this week, it sounds as though she's fine with her single status, insisting she's 'not interested' in dating.

"I don't want to sleep with anybody anymore," the fashionista told the publication. "I don't want to hear somebody breathing."

The mother-of-one - who shares 18-year-old Augustin James with billionaire Frenchman ex-lover François-Henri Pinault - also went on to explain that her recent and infamous failed cosmetic procedure and subsequent lawsuit had knocked her confidence when it came to the world of romance.

Evangelista underwent cryolipolysis fat-reduction procedures in 2015 and 2016 which she previously claimed left her 'brutally disfigured' and 'permanently deformed'.

She added at the time that she became a recluse as a result of the botched procedure.

"Well, I don't blame myself any more," she told the UK publication this week. "I'm not hard on myself any longer. And how people feel about me still bothers me a little bit, but it used to bother me a lot."

The ex-model went on: "I know now that I didn't do anything wrong. For the longest time I thought I did. I'm not completely rid of it, but I work hard at getting rid of the guilt and the shame. And I'm not letting it ruin my life.

The star claimed she'd been left "disfigured" by the procedure.

"I wouldn't have stayed locked up if I'd known how many people cared."

Evangelista initiated legal action against the company that performed the failed procedures, CoolSculpting's owner and boss Zeltiq Aesthetics.

She sought $50 million in damages for both emotional distress and lost income, before settling the case back in July 2022.

Despite her attempts to put the past behind her, however, the international supermodel claims she still struggles with one aspect of daily life.

"Oh, I don't look in the mirror," she admitted.

"My son will say to me sometimes, 'You might want to know that you have a pimple on your chin.' And I'm like, what? But life is better without mirrors."
