Zac Affleck has spoken out after the news broke that his wife, Jen, had filed for divorce after seven years of marriage.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star, 27, filed the paperwork on Tuesday (3 November) in the Fourth Judicial District Court in Provo, Utah, according to court documents accessed by PEOPLE.
The former couple, whose marriage was documented on the reality TV show, tied the knot in 2019, have since welcomed three kids, and are expecting their fourth child.
On Thursday (5 November), Zac took to TikTok to confirm that the sad news was true, and admitted that he found out about the filing via a TMZ reporter.

In a five-minute video shared with his followers, the reality TV star said he came on social media to ‘address everything’ that’s been happening, admitting he doesn’t have a PR team or a manager right now but feels like it’s the ‘right thing to do’.
He explained: “It is true that Jen filed for divorce yesterday, and it is true that I found out from a TMZ reporter about the filing, but, regardless of that, this is something that we’ve been talking about for a long time.
“Jen came to me about a year ago, after Dancing with the Stars, and told me she was unhappy and wanted a divorce. I basically begged her to stay, told her we could work on things, fix things, become however she needed me to be.”
Zac added that ultimately, though, they ‘just couldn’t make it work,’ which ‘sucks’ because he ‘still loves Jen’.
Reminiscing, he gushed: “When I first met Jen, she had this light about her unlike anyone I’ve ever met, and she really does have such a good heart.
“I will continue to support her and be her biggest fan, and I really do believe in her. I think anything with acting, singing, wherever she goes, I really do believe she’s gonna be successful.”
Opening up on what comes next, he added: “I guess we’re just trying to figure out at this point what’s next, how we handle this with the kids, and that’s really my priorities.
“I feel like, probably the thing that’s eating me alive the most is that I feel like I’ve failed my kids and I’m worried that I’m gonna cause them damage, and I just hope that we can still give them a normal childhood.
“As far as that goes Jen and I are definitely on the same page of wanting to give them the best life we can, the best childhood we can, and be teammates and work together to do that.”
The TV stars share three children: daughters Nora, five, and Penelope, 16 months, and their son Luca, three.

Jen also announced she was pregnant with their fourth child in June of this year.
He urged: “I don’t want anyone speaking bad about Jen. I’ll just be the first to say I’ve made plenty of mistakes in our marriage, and it just really was time for us to go on our ways.
“We got married so young, and it sucks because I really did feel like we had something pretty special when we got married, but yeah, life happened.
“We had four kids, we signed up for reality TV on a show that’s really hurt a lot of people’s lives. Marriage is hard, having your marriage in public is hard, raising kids is hard, and I think we just, slowly over time, we lost that spark, and life happened.”
He concluded that he made the video to ‘shut down any narratives,’ reminding people that there’s no ‘Team Zac’ or ‘Team Jen’.
“The only team is just trying to give these kids the best life we can, and just supporting each other. I think we’re gonna continue to do so, and show what a healthy co-parenting relationship can look like,” he said.
Tyla has contacted a representative for Jen and Hulu for comment.
