Kylie Jenner defended after facing backlash for kissing her sister on the lips

Fans have rushed to Kylie Jenner’s defence after she was criticised for kissing sister Kendall on the lips, arguing that it’s ‘normal’ between siblings.

The Kardashian-Jenners have been celebrating Kendall’s 31st birthday this week and in footage shared by their older sister, Khloé, were seen goofing around at a party.

As Kendall and Kylie posed for the light-hearted clip, Kendall could be heard telling her younger sister to ‘kiss me’. Kylie then turned towards her and planted a playful kiss on her lips, prompting Kendall to pull away laughing.

However it didn’t take long for the video to go viral, with fans and observers split down the middle on whether kissing your sibling on the lips is acceptable.

One shocked comment on X reads: “Guys that’s literally her sister.”

However someone else replied: “Not everything is sexual people kiss their sisters all the time.”

Similarly, fans pushed back on the idea that kissing your sibling is automatically weird. “This is normal,” another response reads. “Stop trying to make it incestuous.”

Another person, who also urged others to not make it ‘weird’, claimed: “Sisters giving each other a quick peck on a night out is so normal in a lot of families.”

But not everyone agreed, with one post arguing: “Lmao you must be from the Deep South.”

“I swear drunk Kylie is one of my favourite people,” one fan gushed in response to the clip.

One viral post questioned the moment, asking: “So we are gonna act like this ain’t incest?” However, others were quick to dismiss the criticism, with one person replying: “Chill out, it was just a drunk kiss.”

Another commenter, meanwhile, remained unconvinced, asking: “Why would u kiss ur sister in the mouth?”

Earlier this week, Kylie shared her own birthday tribute to Kendall with an Instagram carousel post showing their adorable moments through the years.

"I am who I am because of who you’ve been to me," she captioned the post. "Happy birthday to my forever sister ostrich/deer cutie pie."

Kendall, who is currently linked to Jacob Elordi, and Kylie, who is dating Timothée Chalamet, have always shared a close bond, having grown up together in the spotlight and spent much of their lives in front of the cameras.

The sisters, whose parents are Kris and Caitlyn Jenner, were just 11 and 10 respectively when Keeping Up With the Kardashians first premiered in October 2007, almost 20 years ago. And their close relationship has continued to play out on screen in the family's Hulu reality series, The Kardashians, where they are still regularly seen joking around, spending time together and sharing playful moments.

Kendall also gave her sister the ultimate compliment when she wore the exclusive Fantasy Bra that has been a staple at Victoria's Secret shows since 1996, with Claudia Schiffer the first model to wear one.

The Fantasy Bra Kylie wore was made of 18-carat gold and 4,410 diamonds, and custom-made.

Kendall left a comment on Kylie's Instagram video recap in which she called the mum-of-two 'a gorgeous woman!!!'

Kylie’s clip included a reel of the exciting moment shared with her 380 million followers. It was captioned, “pinch me!!!!!” alongside a diamond emoji.
