Tyson Fury has revealed what he told his son-in-law Noah Price when he asked for permission to marry his eldest daughter, Venezuela.
The 17-year-old tied the knot with her amateur boxer boyfriend, 19, in a lavish wedding ceremony on the Isle of Man in May, after he popped the all-important question during her 16th birthday celebrations last year.
Not long after, the teen made the big move away from her family’s £8 million home to live in a static chalet home in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
Speaking to FightHype, Tyson recalled: “This guy was only 17 when he came and asked to marry my daughter - who was only 15 at the time, or 16.

“I said, ‘Why do you want to get married? Why? Go off and live your life, go on holiday, enjoy’.
“You’re only just beginning; why do you want a ball and chain around your foot for the rest of your life?”

He explained: “I said, 'Is this really what you want to do? He said yeah, so I said, “Alright, no problem. Get on with it then.”
When asked whether the heavyweight boxer used any ‘intimidation tactics,’ contrary to what people might expect, the answer was actually no.
“There were no intimidations,” he admitted, “She picked this man, she wanted to get married to this fella, and it was her first boyfriend. And a beautiful, Disney ending.”
Tyson, who’s a father of seven, with three daughters, added: “I hope to God that all of them are like that - very easy. No trouble at all, from being a little girl to a young woman. Married, and now she’s gone. I’ve done an unbelievable job as a father, and if I can do three more like that, thank the Lord.”
The sportsman also shared some snippets of what went down at the actual wedding, which featured 18 bridesmaids, a 12-foot cake, thousands of flowers, and even a performance from Peter Andre.
However, he admitted that he was in training camp throughout the wedding planning, so he can’t take credit for any of it. Instead, it was all Paris and Venezuela, who he gave free rein with his credit card, he revealed.
Tyson also recalled getting emotional on his daughter’s big day, which is something he didn’t expect would happen.

He outlined: “On the day, the day before I wasn’t really interested, but on the day someone called me and said Venezuela’s breaking down crying. I went in there, and we were both crying together; it was just an unbelievable scene. It was an emotional wreck.”
He admitted he was meant to give her a pep talk, but he unexpectedly burst out crying too - hence why the father-daughter duo wore sunglasses down the aisle.
Finally, the boxer also made sure to hit back at some of the backlash to his daughter getting married at 16.
He explained: “In our culture it’s a little bit different to the rest of the world because we get married young. I was married young. They’re married young.
“So, daughters always try and pick someone like their father, I’m told. And she picked a tall guy, a heavyweight boxer. I wish them all of the luck in the world.”
