We never noticed this crossover before.

We can notice a lot of things when we're an adult watching back our favourite childhood movies. But this woman discovered that Scar, the villain from The Lion King, actually makes a surprise appearance in Hercules.

Hercules was released in 1997, three years after The Lion King, and it's fair to say that the film didn't give Scar a speaking role...

The TikTok user @scouseblu uploaded this video with the caption "Knowing Scar from Lion King was another one skinned".

People were understandably pretty freaked out.

One commenter said: "Wait why did I never realise this I've seen both movies multiple times and it's literally in plain sight".

Another person commented: "I'm scarred for life, get it??? But seriously!!"

Others saw this as rightful revenge for what Scar did in The Lion King. One TikTok user responded: "It's the least he deserved after what he did to my man Mufasa [sic]".

"I mean he kinda deserved it lol", agreed someone else in the comments.

Some TikTok commenters noted that The Lion King already foreshadowed this scene.

Some people think Scar got what he deserved (

One person pointed out: "Did y'all miss the 'he'd make a very handsome throw rug' quote in Lion King?? All Disney movies are connected somehow".

It's true that Zazu the Hornbill tells Mufasa that 'He'd make a very handsome throw rug' which is both pretty clever and dark from Disney to be honest.

There was some confusion between the end of The Lion King and this scene in Hercules though.

A commenter said: "How'd they get his skin? Didn't the hyenas rip him apart? Damn Olympian magic...", referencing the ending of The Lion King where the hyenas pounce on Scar.

There were some people who then made the link between this scene and an Ancient myth about Hercules.

One person commented: "So I don't know if this is right but I learned that the Leo's story is the lion and it says that one of Hercules task was to kill the lion".

"Do realise that's the Nemean lion pelt he got from killing the Nemean lion", said another.

Is this a Disney reference to an ancient myth? (

There is an Ancient Greek story that links Hercules and lions that makes this scene even weirder. The tale goes that Hercules had to defeat the Nemean lion - a creature that dominated the land and would kill whoever came near it and threatened its power.

Regular weapons couldn't defeat the lion as it had a nearly impermeable skin, so Hercules had to wrestle and strangle the beast to death. He then removed the pelt from the lion and wore it as a cloak.

Kudos to Disney on this crossover tbh.
