Love Islander who was removed from villa after shocking Molly-Mae incident finally explains what really happened
Can you believe it has been seven years since Sherif Lanre was given the boot from Love Island after an incident with Molly-Mae Hague?
The ousted Islander has finally spoken out about what went on all that time ago, which saw his time on the island come to an abrupt end.
Lanre was part of the 2019 series which saw Molly-Mae meet and fall in love with Tommy Fury, but not everyone found their happy ever after.
He was removed from the villa off-camera, and fans were left in the dark about what went on and why he was removed.

Now, seven years on, Lanre has opened up about the error of his ways which saw him getting the boot from the reality show.
It turns out, that Molly-Mae and Lanre had been playfighting, when he accidentally kicked the influencer in the crotch.
If it was an accident, kicking him out seems quite harsh, but it was the inappropriate comment he made later in the day which sealed his fate.
He referred to the moment as a 'c***-punt'.
Lanre has now told The Sun about what happened, insisting it came as a surprise to him to be removed.
“We laughed and joked about it. It wasn’t cynical or malicious. No one was hurt. We all went to bed,” he said.
However, producers came to wake him up separately the next morning.
“I was woken up separately from everyone else. I can’t tell you what time it was or how long before the normal waking up time it was. But yeah, I got woken up separate from everybody else and taken upstairs to the beach hut,” he recalled.
“This is where it gets a little bit funny because, I feel as though ITV questioned me in a way where I had to sort of admit fault on paper for what I’d done. Rather than them sort of investigating the actual nature of what happened,” Sherif claimed.
“So I got taken to the beach hut with two executive producers of the show questioning me about what happened the night prior before going to bed. Essentially they said, ‘Do you feel like it is acceptable to be doing that on the show?’
“Bearing in mind, I had just been woken up by them – seconds before. I think this is a very key detail of it all. To be woken up in a setting like Love Island, randomly away from everybody else, you’re naturally going to be a little bit discombobulated.
“I sort of answered, ‘No’. They took that opportunity to just say, ‘Well, we’re going to have to remove you from the villa."
“Long story short – I didn’t get to pack my stuff, I didn’t get to say goodbye to anybody. I literally left from the beach hut straight out the front door. They packed my stuff.
“I got taken to another location where I spent a night and then flew back the next morning with an executive producer and a chaperone,” Sherif finished.
He insisted there is no drama between the pair now: “We have never stopped following each other. We have interacted with each other’s posts. There’s no beef between me and Molly-Mae. There never has been."
“In my logic, I genuinely believe she never complained or asked for me to come off of the show,” he continued.
His comments echoed Molly-Mae's at the time, who told Cosmopolitan when she exited the villa: "No absolutely not. No beef with me and Sherif."

Maura had her sights set on bombshell Tom when he rocked up to the villa two weeks into the 2019 series.
However, it was quickly derailed after she selected him to spend a night in the Hideaway, as he blew his chances before they even got there.
Maura overheard Tom telling the boys, ‘it'll be interesting to see if she is all mouth or not’, and the comment went down exactly as you’d expect.
Amid a whole bunch of (understandable) f-bombs, she revoked her invite and the pair never really recovered from it.
Jonny Mitchell and Theo Campbell - season three
Perhaps one of the show’s most iconic clashes, Jonny and Theo butted heads back in 2017 over a love triangle with Tyla Carr.
It came to a head during a tense recoupling when new boy Theo decided to pick Tyla, who was happily coupled up with Jonny.
The shock move resulted in Jonny calling Theo a ‘gigantic b*****d’ before they squared up to each other. Theo hilariously also branded his rival a ‘tuna melt’.
While the two eventually made up, Theo couldn’t help but throw one last dig when Tyla was in tears as Jonny was dumped, saying: “I think if Tyla really liked him she should go as well really.”
Anna Vakili and Jordan Hames - season five
Not long after Jordan asked Anna to be his girlfriend, he confessed to fellow islander Curtis Pritchard that his head had been turned by bombshell India Reynolds.
Anna soon found out and confronted Jordan in an explosive row, shouting: “What kind of guy asks a girl to be their girlfriend and two days later they crack on with another f***ing girl.”
She immediately called time on their relationship and the pair were soon dumped by the public.
Amy Hart and Curtis Pritchard - season five
The pair were initially considered one of the strongest couples of the 2019 series (which seems to have been full of drama); however, that all came crashing down after the infamous Casa Amor.
Even though Curtis came back to the villa alone, he admitted that his head had been turned by Jourdan Riane and couldn’t promise Amy that it wouldn’t happen again.
She called him a ‘compulsive liar’ and was left heartbroken, eventually deciding to leave the villa to protect her mental health.
