As Cher Horowitz would say, “Ugh, as if!" - guys, it’s finally happening: a Clueless sequel series is officially in development.
The new TV show will see Alicia Silverstone, 49, reprise her role from the iconic 1995 chick flick, with the highly anticipated sequel being greenlit by Paramount+.
The coming-of-age teen comedy film followed popular and wealthy girl Cher as she navigated her love life and friendships at a Beverley Hills high school.
As reported by Variety, the project was originally set up for development at Peacock in 2025, however, it was revealed in April 2026 that it would no longer be going ahead with that streaming service.

But, to fans' delight, the show is still coming, just to a new home, and sources reportedly say that Paramount+ has given the show a six-episode order, with production expected to begin in Los Angeles in 2027.
While Silverstone is confirmed to star, there’s been no news yet on whether the rest of the original cast members will be making a return, so Tyla has delved into where they are now, thirty years on from the original movie.
Alicia Silverstone as Cher Horowitz

Although she had movie roles before she stepped into Cher’s iconic heels, Clueless was the movie that flung Alicia Silverstone into the spotlight, aged just 18 years old.
Since then, she has continued to star in a number of films, such as Batman & Robin in 1997, Vamps in 2012 and The Killing of a Sacred Deer in 2017.
More recently, the actress has appeared in Reptile (2023), Pretty Thing (2025) and Oscar-nominated Bugonia last year.
Away from acting, she keeps fans up to date with her life on Instagram, and is a passionate animal and environmental-rights activist, having launched The Kind Life - a website to promote ‘healthy, vegan, and sustainable living’.
Silverstone also welcomed a son named Bear Blu Jarecki in 2011, whom she shares with her ex-husband Christopher Jarecki.
Stacey Dash as Dionne Davenport

American actress Stacey Dash played Dionne Davenport in the original movie - Cher's closest friend and confidante.
Hot off the back of the movie, she reprised her role for the prior spinoff sitcom, which ran from 1996 to 1999, and has also seemingly kept in touch with Silverstone over the years, with the pair making a TikTok video together in 2022.
She went on to appear in movie’s like View from the Top (2003), I Could Never Be Your Woman (2007), Four. (2024) and The Doctor With Two Faces (2025), to name a few.
As for TV series, as per PEOPLE Magazine, she’s appeared on The Strip, Celebrity Circus, The Game and Single Ladies.
She even popped up in as Kanye West‘s ‘All Falls Down’ music video in 2009.
She’s active on social media, and this week, aged 59, she celebrated a decade of sobriety, writing on Instagram: “I have been clean for a decade today. I have walked through the valley of death. I have had many dark nights of my soul. But God never left me and I never used.
“So today the gratitude in my heart is overwhelming. My children are proud of me and I am able to look them and myself in the eye and say I am proud of me too..”
Brittany Murphy as Tai Frasier

Brittany Murphy played Tai Frasier in the movie - a shy, nerdy transfer student at Bronson Alcott High School, who Cher and Dionne take under their wing and transform into one of the popular girls with a makeover.
She went on to feature in a number of other movies, including 8 Mile (2002), Uptown Girls (2003), Just Married (2003) and Sin City (2005).
However, tragically, Murphy tragically passed away from pneumonia in December 2009, aged just 32.
Her last credited movie role was in the psychological thriller Something Wicked, which was released in 2014.
Paul Rudd as Josh Lucas

Now, I’m pretty sure we all know what Paul Rudd is doing post-Clueless, as he went on to become one of Hollywood’s biggest names.
The 35-year-old star played Cher’s college-aged former stepbrother and eventual love interest and heartthrob.
From Friends to Ant-Man, he’s appeared in some huge TV shows and movies, becoming a household name around the world.
Whether he makes a return to the chick flick, we’ll just have to wait and see.
Donald Faison as Murray Duvall

Murray Duvall is another popular teen at the Beverly Hills high school, who has an on-and-off relationship with Dionne.
The actor behind the role, Donald Faison, is now 52, and also participated in the previous 1990s sitcom, alongside his on-screen girlfriend.
Stepping away from the world of Clueless, his next big role was playing Dr. Chris Turk on Scrubs for nine whole seasons, as well as the ABC reboot in 2026.
Speaking about the possibility of a Clueless reunion in February 2024, Duvall told PEOPLE; “I would want to say do another movie, to be honest with you. Anything. Clueless 2 would be awesome, and it’s not us anymore, it’s our kids. And now Cher is the Mel Horowitz character.
“ I would think that Cher and Josh would still be together, even though it’s a little weird.”
Elisa Donovan as Amber Mariens

We of course can’t forget Amber Mariens, Cher’s snobbish fashion rival and high school ‘frenemy,’ who was played by Elisa Donovan.
She also reprised her role for the 90s sitcom, and more recently for the 2023 Rakuten Super Bowl ad with Silverstone.
After her role in the film, Donovan went on to play Ginger LaMonica in Beverly Hills, 90210 and Morgan Cavanaugh in the sitcom Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
Movie-wise, she appeared in A Night at the Roxbury in 1998 and The Dog Who Saved movies.
Jeremy Sisto as Elton Tiscia

Jeremy Sisto played Elton Tiscia in Clueless - another minor antagonist who Cher tried to set him up with Tai. However, he brutally makes a move on Cher, instead.
Sisto currently stars as Assistant Special Agent in Charge Jubal Valentine on the CBS drama series FBI, a role he has played since 2018.
He also starred on the TV show Six Feet Under and the movie Waitress, as well as playing Detective Cyrus Lupo on Law & Order.
Wallace Shawn as Mr. Wendell Hall

Moving away from all of the students, Wallace Shawn played the role of Mr. Wendell Hall, a teacher at Bronson Alcott High.
He went on to star in another fan-favourite classic, but this time a TV series - Gossip Girl.
Fans of the show will recognise Shawn as Blair Waldorf's stepfather, Cyrus Rose.
He also played Vizzini in The Princess Bride, Dr. John Sturgis in Young Sheldon, andvoiced Rex the Dinosaur in the Toy Story franchise.
Justin Walker as Christian Stovitz

Finally, Justin Walker is best known for his role of Christian Stovitz in the movie.
As per PEOPLE Magazine, he had a few small acting roles but eventually left Hollywood and instead became the owner of Teddy Teadle’s Grill in Rancho Mirage, California in 2010.
