The Weekend Away Fans Are Realising Where They Recognise Rob From

We knew it!

If you were glued to new Netflix movie, The Weekend Away this week, you might have noticed Beth's husband, Rob, looked rather familiar.

The film, based on the novel of the same name by Sarah Alderson and starring Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester, dropped on Netflix this week.

It follows Beth (played by Meester) who agrees to a long-awaited weekend away in Croatia with her best friend Kate. But when Beth wakes up in her apartment alone after a night out, she's left to unravel what happened.

Tragically, just days later, Kate's body is found at the waterfront, and while trying to uncover who is responsible, Beth discovers her husband Rob (played by Luke Norris), who she believes is back home in London, had been having an affair with Kate.

Viewers are shocked by the twists and turns in the movie, and many are only just realising where they recognise Rob from.

Yep, actor Luke Norris also played Dr Dwight Enys in BBC show Poldark.

We knew we recognised him from somewhere!

Fans will remember that Dr Enys - who is married to Caroline Penvenen (Gabriella Wilde) in the series - played the town's trusty doctor and was also a member of the Royal Navy.

Writing on Twitter, one viewer said: "It’s taken me a good 40mins to realise Rob was Dr Enys in Poldark."

While another added: "OMG just realised halfway through watching that Luke Norris in the Weekend Away played Dr Eynes from Poldark. That's where I knew those blue eyes from!"

And a third wrote: "If you're a #Poldark fan, the actor who played Dr. Enys, Luke Norris, appears to be in the new thriller #TheWeekendAwayNetflix , which takes place in Croatia. I forgot what a good actor he is."

After watching the movie, viewers have been left floored by the dramatic twist, which sees police officer Pavic blamed for Kate's murder.

It turns out Pavic is a red herring, and Rob was responsible all along.

It all unravels when Beth is back in London, dropping her daughter off at Rob's (the pair seem to have split after the revelations of his and Kate's affair).

She discovers a bead from Kate's necklace - the one she wore on the night of her death - in Rob's jacket pocket. After confronting him, he confesses.

Viewers were loving the shock ending, with many calling the twists 'wild'.

You can catch the movie on Netflix now.
