As Sweet Magnolias fans binge the highly anticipated second season, viewers are all asking the same question after Isaac’s dad is revealed.
In the ninth episode of the Netflix series, it was revealed that Bill Townsend is the character’s biological father in a shocking turn, and fans took to Twitter to basically all say the exact same thing: that they’re in utter disbelief.

Alex on the social media platform wrote: “Why did they think it would be good to make Bill Isaac's bio father? #SweetMagnolias”.
Another Twitter user wrote: “When you’ve just realised WHO ISAACS FATHER Is !?!?!? #SweetMagnolias #SweetMagnoliasSeason2 [sic]”, alongside a slew of emojis and pictures, including Rihanna crying and Adele looking confused.
“Bill is Isaac’s father?! #SweetMagnolias [sic],” another fan asked, while a different fan took to the platform to explain how fed up they are of the show.
Mia Stan wrote: “I’m so over this Isaac thing now that they made Bill his father. They just ruined the show. How is Isaac judging Bill?!?! Isaac pissing me off. Well they found his birth father. Time to ship him off back to his dad #SweetMagnolias #SweetMagnoliasSeason2 [sic]”.
The slightly confused fan-reaction comes as the jaw-dropping reveal of Isaac’s father shook up the town.

It was also recently revealed that the show’s screenwriter, Sheryl J. Anderson, had been keeping Isaac’s father’s identity under wraps for years.
The producer and writer told TV Line: “We made that decision in the writers’ room at the beginning of Season 1.”
“We knew who Isaac was when we brought him to town. We wanted to see him searching for answers, but we also wanted to use that search as a way to shed new light on the paths that other people were on.”
