Permanent marker is fantastic for a wide range of everyday tasks, but it can also be quite a nuisance to remove if the ink gets on a surface where it's not wanted.
Thankfully, a TikTok user has unveiled a savvy hack to remove permanent marker from tile or laminate floors.
Terra Jolé posted her hack on TikTok as the latest instalment in her 'Mama Hack Monday' series. Her son drew a character on her laminate floors with permanent marker and Terra wiped it away with a flick of the wrist.

To remove the drawing, Terra uses regular sunscreen which she sprays onto the floor before wiping it away in seconds.
"When your son draws on the floor with permanent marker, have no fear - sunscreen is here.!" she says. "Just spray along and wipe. It's so satisfying."
The floors look as good as new after Terra finishes wiping. "The floors are officially clean!" she says at the end of the video.
One commenter said: "I learned something new thank you."
Another TikTok user joked: "That was pretty good artwork, I must say."
To find out more about how the hack works, Tyla spoke with Martin Seeley, CEO of MattressNextDay, who help debunk cleaning myths.
“Whilst you can use sun cream to remove permanent marker stains from a tiled or laminate floor, there’s a certain knack to getting it right," he explains.
“To do it properly, we recommend applying a dollop of sun cream to a soft clean white towel that you are not concerned about marking. Using a white towel will allow you to see what you are removing, so that you don’t discolour your floor.
“Once you have your towel with the dollop of sun cream, apply gentle pressure and move your hand in circular motions to remove the stain.
"If you have a stubborn stain, re-apply more sunscreen and repeat the process over and over, until it’s fully removed. We also recommend using a sun cream that sprays with a clear liquid, as opposed to a cream-based sun creams, as they don’t work as effectively."
“Once you’ve finished, make sure to remove the sun cream off your tiles with your floor cleaner as if left to try, its waterproof tendencies will make it hard to remove, and you could be left with sticky floors that attract dirt like a magnet.”
