OK guys.

We're in the very last week of November, and that means we're mere days away from a whole month of festive flicks, nostalgic tunes, copious amounts of mulled wine and even more Christmas decorations.

And, while all the high street shops and supermarkets may have had their tinsel and Santa Claus decor up for ages now, it's clear anyone who loves the winter holiday will no doubt be taking their baubles, garlands and wreaths out of dusty storage.

But, according to an astrologer, there's a very specific date you should adhere to when it comes to doing up your gaff Xmas-style.

So, apparently, the date in question revolves around the dreaded Mercury retrograde, which comes to an end towards the end of this month.

Astrologer Inbaal Honigman has told tarot reading platform Tarotoo that anyone itching to put up with Christmas trees and fairy lights should wait until at least Saturday (November 29th) - as that is when the cosmic event finally rounds off.

The date coincides with the first Sunday of Advent, which traditionally is a popular day to decorate, alongside the more obvious December 1st.

"Astrologically, in 2025, one of the most important things would be to miss the Mercury retrograde, which ends on November 29. The Mercury retrograde can be a harbinger of mayhem, so it's best to wait until it is over before decorating," she explained.

"Traditionally, the 12 days of Christmas would start on Christmas Day, and so decorating beforehand was less common, and the tinsel would be down by January 5, which was the 12th day."

And Inbaal's advice doesn't stop there, as she's also suggested using astrology to decide on the perfect time to do your Christmas shopping - and it's good news if you're usually a tad last-minute dot com.

"The good news is that in 2025, you shouldn't start too soon. Ideally, the shopping period of 2025 would be December 1st - 20th," she shared, explaining that the Mercury retrograde between November 10th and November 29th is an astrological phenomenon which negatively impacts communication.

"This means that online ordering systems, couriers, emails and phone calls are all likely to experience delays and mishaps," Inbaal warned before finishing up: "In fact, leaving the bulk of your Christmas shopping to December in 2025 isn't only advisable, it is responsible.

"The gifts that would be bought before December 21st will be purchased during the Sagittarius season, so they'll be fun and joyful."

The astrologer concluded: "Anything purchased during Capricorn season, after the 21st, will be beautiful but overpriced, because Capricorn is a posh kind of star sign, so the sensible cut-off date is the 21st."
