A return to America could be on the cards for Ellen DeGeneres, just a year after she fled her home country for the safety of the UK.
The television presenter and wife Portia de Rossi flew over 3,000 miles east in November of last year, ahead of 'anti-LGBTQ' politician Donald Trump's controversial re-election to the presidential position.
Early reports alleged that the couple had planned to split their time across the Atlantic before the Republican leader's victory against Kamala Harris, after which they ruled to make the move permanent.
"We got here the day before the election and woke up to lots of texts from our friends with crying emojis, and I was like, 'He got in,'" the comedian told British broadcaster Richard Bacon back in July. "And we're like, 'We're staying here.'"

Since then, she and de Rossie have remained in the Cotswolds. Sadly, though, the sprawling farmhouse they first purchased became surrounded by floodwater during last year's rainy winter months, spurring them to quickly sell it.
The money DeGeneres, 67, made from the sale prompted she and de Rossi's move into a glass-walled mansion in the high-profile area of the UK, where Kourtney Kardashian was spotted recently, and the Beckham's own a home.
"We moved here in November, which was not the ideal time, but I saw snow for the first time in my life. We love it here," she also said. "Portia flew her horses here, and I have chickens, and we had sheep for about two weeks.

“Everything here is just better - the way animals are treated, people are polite. I just love it here."
Just before Christmas, however, the rumour mill claimed the couple were thinking of warmer climates once again, and that de Rossi, 52, had been 'telling friends they are coming home soon because they miss them'.

And according to new reports, it didn't take long for their plan to be put into place.

Bosses at Realtor say the couple - who married in 2008 - have already snapped up a $27.4m mansion in the affluent California neighbour of Montecito, having closed an off-market deal in November.
The property previously belonged to Hollywood producer Brian Grazer, as per Radar Online.
This wouldn't be the first property that DeGeneres and de Rossi have purchased in Montecito, given that they lived in the area for some time prior to their move to the UK.
Though it hasn't been confirmed as of yet whether their new 'Sunshine State' property will become their main area of residence, the couple's latest purchase has intensified speculation about whether the Great British countryside is living up to their expectations.

"I guess America isn't so bad after all," one Instagram user jibed of the prospect.

Another critic questioned, however: "So the president here isn’t that bad anymore? Interesting. Hypo!"
"'Leaving the country' but never giving up their US citizenship," a third questioned. "Rich liberals are hilarious."
