No arguments, Home Alone is hands down, the best Christmas film. But when he heard Disney was making a reboot, we never *imagined* they'd actually bring back Kevin McCallister.
But now, in answer to our wildest dreams, it has been confirmed that the character who made Macaulay Culkin a household name, *will* return.
Does this mean the 39-year-old actor will also be back on our screens? Sadly, that's unconfirmed. We can only hope.

But what we do know is a little more about the plot and exactly how Kevin will fit into the new flick, which is expected to air on Disney+.
While the reboot will focus on a brand new family, according to a casting brief on Daniel Richtman's Patreon, fans will see grown-up Kevin as the owner of McCallister Security Solutions.
Past and present intertwine when Kevin provides a security system to the new family, but it's unknown exactly how central a character he will be to the rest of the storyline.
It's a completely different plot to the original 1990 film which sees eight-year-old Kevin accidentally left at home while his family head on a trip to Paris.

At first, Kevin is excited that he's been left to his own devices, but soon realises it isn't all it's cracked up to be when two criminals attempt to rob the house under his nose.
In terms of confirmed cast members for the reboot, Jojo Rabbit star Archie Yates will take the lead alongside Ellie Kemper and Catastrophe's Rob Delaney.
According to The Hollywood Reporter the new film is set to be directed by Dirty Grandpa filmmaker, Dan Mazer and will see "Kemper and Delaney play a wife and husband who, in order to save their home from financial ruin, go to war with a kid (Max) who has stolen a priceless heirloom."
Max is said to be a mischievous nine-year-old boy who outsmarts the adults - much like Kevin McCallister - although it's unconfirmed whether the pair will come face-to-face.

And Kevin isn't the only character set to return. In fact, fans will be pleased to hear a good dose of nostalgia is heading their way, with both Buzz McCallister, Harry and Marv also set to appear.
It's reported Buzz will play a police officer while unsurprisingly, Harry and Marv are in prison.
We're holding out *all* the hopes that the original characters, Devin Ratray, Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern will be back on our screens this year.
Now *that* would be a Christmas miracle...
