Sharon Osbourne reveals 'biggest mistake' she made with Ozzy as fans spot heartbreaking detail during his funeral

Sharon Osbourne has opened up on the biggest regret she had with her late husband Ozzy - and it’s something nobody would expect.

It comes after the rocker’s wife, 72, and the rest of their family, emotionally joined fans in paying farewell to the Black Sabbath star during a procession in Birmingham yesterday (30 July).

Ozzy, who tied the knot with Sharon back in 1982, tragically passed away at the age of 76 last week, leaving behind his wife and children.

Sharon was joined at the funeral and procession by her and Ozzy’s son Jack, as well as their daughters Aimee and Kelly.

She became visibly emotional as she stepped out of a car to view the hundreds of floral tributes and balloons laid around the Black Sabbath bench in the city where her husband was from. The family members wiped away tears at the bench as they inspected tributes, with members of the crowd shouting 'we love you Ozzy.'

Sharon and her children each carried a pink rose, wrapped in black paper tied with a purple ribbon, that they laid on top of the many other floral tributes that sat next to a poster of the star, which said: “Birmingham will always love you.”

And some eagle-eyed fans noticed another emotional way she paid tribute to the late star - by wearing his wedding ring on a chain around her neck.

People wrote on social media: “Seeing Sharon wear Ozzy’s ring on a necklace… completely wrecked me."

Another said: “Broke my heart seeing Sharon and the kids visit Ozzy’s memorial at the procession. Noticed Sharon had Ozzy’s wedding ring on her necklace.”

Now, as the world reminisces on their incredible four-decade long marriage, resurfaced interviews and clips are popping up online.

Earlier this year, she appeared on a podcast - The Magnificent Others with Billy Corgan - where she shared a detail about their relationship that never saw the light of day.

And surprisingly, it looks like Ozzy could have had a big break in the world of acting.

Sharon, who it’s important to remember was Ozzy’s manager from 1979, asked: “Do you want to know the biggest mistake I ever made with Ozzy?”

She then went on to reveal: “He got offered to go and read for Pirates of the Caribbean - and I’ve never said this to anyone.”

Host Billy Cogan could barely contain his surprise as he asked: “And you said no?”

“I said no,” admitted the TV star, “Now, wouldn’t he have been perfect?”

In another interview with Music Business Worldwide, Sharon lifted the lid on the talent she saw in Ozzy, even before they got together.

"I just saw something in Ozzy," Sharon told the publication.

She added: "I saw that spark that he had. It was electric. Ozzy would walk into a room, and everybody would look at him.

“In two minutes, he had everybody laughing on the floor. He was a very charismatic young man. I just believed in it."
