Glow Up: Britain's Next Make-up Star returns to our screens tonight, 20th April, with the third series.

The hit make-up contest show sees ten amateur make-up artists (MUAs) go head to head and compete for a career-launching contract, working with the biggest names in the business.

The hit series was created by BBC Three and the first series aired in March 2019.

Why is Maya Jama taking over from Stacey Dooley?

Maya Jama will be taking over from Stacey Dooley as host in series three.

The former Radio 1 presenter is a make-up enthusiast herself and has previously been a guest judge on Ru Paul's Drag Race UK.

Stacey Dooley presented BBC Glow Up series 1 and 2 '

She told Radio Times, Stacey Dooley had given her her blessing about the presenting gig before series 3."She said, 'Good luck, honey - you're going to smash it!'"

"Like she's been amazing and she's doing incredible, incredible bits as usual anyway, so I think it was a nice crossover.

"I don't know why in the media and internet and TV world, people always want to try and be like, 'Hey how do you feel about this one and this one?' and pin people against each other but it's not that, it's not."

"I absolutely LOVE Glow Up and can't wait to join the family! I'm obsessed with makeup and creating different looks - it's going to be so much fun and I can't wait to see what the MUAs get up to," Jama said on Instagram.

Glow Up series 3: What's in store for contestants?

The make-up artists will be set a number of fast-paced, high-pressured challenges by judges, Val Garland and Dominic Skinner, as well as guest judges on the show.

Past contestants have worked behind the scenes of Holby City and Strictly Come Dancing, prepared the models backstage at London Fashion Week, and come up with unique looks on the set of fashion magazine editorials.

Where can I watch Glow Up Series 3?

Glow Up series three will air on Tuesdays on BBC iPlayer at 7pm. The first two series are also on there available to watch.

Self-confessed lipstick lover and scouser, Alex, has a very experimental style which is unapologetically her. "I'm a typical Scouse girl in that there's a level of glamour in everything I do, I'm Scouse glam with a queer twist," she says. "I'll be bringing scouse council house dyke energy to iPlayer every Tuesday at 7."

We look forward to seeing what that looks like.
